Absolutely agree with everything Westonman said on the previous page, but he forgot to add Gordon Browns outright theft from UK pension funds which at the time were considered to be amongst the best and most stable in the world. I forget how many billions it was at the time, but he reduced them to rubble practically overnight.

The events unfolding in Cyprus are a very sinister twist in my opinion, and from what I have been reading and hearing in the last few days, are not entirely unconnected with or unrelated to the German elections later this year.

I may well be wrong, but it seems to me a small country has been 'picked off' to test the water. That in itself would be alarming enough if it were just the rich in that country who were the target, but thats clearly not the case.

There is a rather good rant ( and it clearly is a rant, but the chap actually makes some very valid points in amongst it ), out there on You Tube about this. I won't post the link because of the explicit language used, but feel free to search ' The Great Cyprus Bank Robbery '.

***WARNING*** That You Tube post contains a lot of explicit language, so please do not seek it out if you are likely to be offended. I still think he makes a lot of valid points though, shame he couldn't have toned it down a bit and take the message to a wider audience.

Jim, that is a very good question. The answer each one of comes to will very much depend on how we individually understand how and why the world system functions the way it does. Myself, I don't think there is an answer that the people are willing to accept, and because of where we are in history. I think the situation is only going to get worse, much worse. I use my understanding of the situation as an indicator as to where we are currently placed on the prophetic timetable for this world.

However we view the world system, I think it is important for every one of us to fully understand just how deceitful the main political parties are – we must recognise that politics does not have the answer to our situation. Politics is all about building a power pyramid, where the elite sit at the top of the pyramid and enjoy the fruits of the labours of all the slaves in the lower ranks of the power pyramid. We have allowed ourselves into being conned into believing that politics is about improving the lives of ordinary folk; it isn't; politics is about the elite having raw power OVER our lives. This latest example in Cyprus, at the behest of the EU elite, only proves just how much power these people are prepared to use against us.

For anybody who does not share my views on the world situation and wants to believe there is a possible political answer to the rapidly deteriorating political and economic situation, then a prerequisite for a solution would be to recognise the depravity of our society, and of the wickedness that currently has free rein in high places. For those same people who want the situation to improve, there must be and end to the tribal vote at the polls, and there has to be a “None of the above” option on all ballot papers – and there are no signs of either of those basic changes taking place. It is also essential that we all recognise that lies, deceit, dishonesty, fraud, theft, greed, perversion, self-centredness, hatred, and many other disastrous human traits will have no place in any improving situation, simply because it is not possible to build anything of worth out of corrupt behaviour.

Sadly, I believe our present situation has a great deal to do with our individual and national rejection of Biblical Truth. We have basically said,”We do not want The Almighty God to be involved in our affairs”; and being a gentleman, the same Almighty God has stood back and given us want we have asked for. But my mention of that one fact will most likely and immediately close the door to any further discussion. That closure of the conversation is the very reason why I believe we are rapidly approaching the End Times for the world as we know it – very few are prepared to listen to the answer, and even fewer are ready to accept the answer.

The very nature of all thinking life is first survival, then domination, even in the wild there is always one who will lead, and the majority who follow, that's how it works, as to if we believe that or not! that's how it is, that's how the pack survives, the next evolutionary happening is various packs joining forces, to protect or expand, this enhances the lifestyle of those at the top, and filters down to those lower down, while those at the bottom. (the majority) who actually build the pyramid, settle for much less, that is how the system works, until them at the top see another pyramid, bigger, and better! :) ;)

From what I gather they have held off any final decision because they didn't expect such a bad reaction !!!!!!!!!!

What did they expect, everyone to agree ?

They keep delaying the Cypriot Parliamentary vote because the ruling party does not think it can muster enough votes to get the measure through, meanwhile the banks stay shut and people on Cyprus cannot access money for groceries etc as all the cash machines are empty.

They are scrambling about in Brussels now with a view to much decreasing the impact on those with accounts of less than 100,000 euro's in the hope it will assist passage whilst caning those more with deposits over that figure. (Supposedly the rich Russians), many of them supposed to be gangsters!!!

All to no avail I am afraid the cat is out of the bag, the issue at discussion is the insistence of the unelected troika in raiding persons deposits in the first place. It makes no odds if they take 5 Euro from everyone and be done with it, the fact that they were and remain prepared to take this step is the killer.

If they cannot get the vote through then I expect the bailout will not be forthcoming, Cyprus will default and crash out of the Euro, the contagion will then spread as markets come to realise that there is a mechanism to quit the Euro.

Whichever way this is not going to be pretty......

It's almost like Germany has realised the wider Southern end of the EU are taking them for mugs and that they now believe enough is enough. If that means killing the single currency then so be it as they are not prepared to write blank cheques for ever with bailout after bailout whilst these Countries do nothing to normalise their tax revenue generating systems.

Across Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece avoiding tax is like the national sport. Everyone does it and the Germans have had enough of it.

Another point to note is that while the ECB and the Germans are taking a lot of flak for this fiasco it was the LaGarde at the IMF who was proposing the most drastic seizure of depositors money.

https://mninews.marketnews.com/index.php/imfs-lagarde-will-recommend-imf-contribution-cyprus-plan?q=content/imfs-lagarde-will-recommend-imf-contribution-cyprus-plan

It is noticeable that LaGarde has gone pretty quite now it has all gone pear shaped.

Its more than simply avoiding taxes though.

Invest £10 in a UK bank and £10 in Cyprus bank since 2008.

Apply 10% tax to Cypriot holding.

In real terms the UK £10 is now worth now = £8.58ish

In real terms the Cypriot £10 now = £12.76ish

Why? Because the Euro, unlike the Pound, has not devalued itself by 25% in the last few years.

This 10% is a virtual devaluation that applies only to Cyprus, and on the face of it albeit controversial is a neat solution to the problem. Only the Cypriots (and those using their banking system for gain) will pay.

We can certainly expect to see it happening again, especially in nations where banking is disproportional to the population, e.g. Ireland

The day where the single currency stops being the single currency is about to dawn..

http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2013/mar/21/eurozone-crisis-cyprus-bailout-plan-b

Quote:
Capital controls to be implemented in Cyprus - DJ

Dow Jones newswires is reporting the bank reform legislation which is being submitted to the Cypriot parliament tonight will impost capital controls on its banking sector.

That will restricted the amount of money that can be taken out of a bank (when they reopen).

Quite a moment for the single currency.

This is going to murder confidence in the Eurozone banking system......
