Few old Hayes pubs in those video's which have no disappeared and been replaced with housing estates.

Think I noticed The Royal Standard and the one whose name escapes me just up from the Football club in Church Road on corner of Freemans Lane. Was it the Royal Oak?

Let's re-minis what other pubs have we lost over the years.

The one on the Uxbridge Road on the way to Southall close to where HMV gate was. Where the window was with the HMV little dog in it. What was it called?

The Irish place on the parade of shops by Woolworths Uxbridge Road. The one which was converted to flats opposite the Angel.

Am sure there are others. The Industry (is that still going)? The Ram?

The Industry has closed down I'm afraid to say. Have heard it's planned to be a nursing home. It was the Royal Oak. Lots of pubs have closed, far too many in my opinion.

Think the Ram has also gone, The Willow Tree by me has also gone.

and the Royal Oak what about the Blue Anchor soon there wont be any watering holes.

I think you can put the brewery companies directly in the firing line fro that. Extortionate rent and too many tough T's & C's for the tenant landlords.

Plus supermarket beer prices of course

Sad fact is the land these pubs sit on is worth a lot more as a housing estate than as a pub.

European immigration did for our pubs by driving the cost of property/land up....

Yes it was the Royal Oak Geezer.

I think the one on the way to Southall was The Alhambra (known as the Glass House).
There was a great cockle and mussel stall outside The Industry on a Saturday night. (I was born not far from there)
Is The Victoria (the Vic) still in North Hyde road?
I remember when The Crane opened, it was the first time i saw carpet in a pub!
The Railway Arms got renamed The Tumbler and was good for a punch-up.
We used to walk to The Standard and sit outside in summer, I remember a stuffed pike in a glass case.
At The Oak we used to put the empty glasses on the window sill so little Teddy Powell couldn't reach them.
Good old days.
