well , if Cameron wants to pull back some powers from Europe , the climate change restrictions should be the first he gets back for the UK
no green taxes , that will stimulate the economy , more flights etc
lowering of car tax , and make it a standard one ,lowering fuel tax
coal power stations , cheaper to build and run
no wind power subsidies.
pull out of all climate change talks until , our economy ,is stable
but , as the mp.s who have shares in green power would not like that

It is a cold winters day. At the time of posting this, the demand on the national grid was 50.72 Gigawatts (GW). But like so many cold winter days there isn't much wind about, and wind power was only providing 1.13 GW.

A little off topic I know,
I drove towards Windsor, Ontario. A couple of weeks back, there are around 300 windmills in that area on the shores of Lake Erie. Not one windmill was actually turning.
On another occasion, I was talking to somebody who used to drive a escort car. When the parts for the windmills were being transported in the states. He claimed the land owners were the windmills are located get $20,000 per year, per windmill.
It would be interesting to know what the landowners get there in the UK

It is the same in the dis-UNITED KINGDOM. There is big money to be made, EVEN IF NO electricity is generated.:

Quote:
A report by MPs on the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) yesterday disclosed that households across the country face seeing their bills rise after deals worth £17 billion were agreed with energy firms delivering wind-generated power.
Under the contracts, which were agreed by Ed Miliband, the Labour leader, during the last government, but implemented by the Coalition, energy companies are guaranteed an RPI inflation-linked income for 20 years even if they fail to deliver energy to households.

Here on my lofty viewpoint on a cliff top just outside Hastings I can see the past and the future of energy 'production' within 10 miles.

Looking across Rye Bay there is a veritable forest of wind turbines, not one of which is currently turning, and they rarely do. Just beyond them are the 2 nuclear power stations at Dungeness which are soon to be closed down. Dungeness provides safe and reliable power 24/7, the wind turbines just a few miles away stand idle for most of the time because the wind isn't strong enough.

Meanwhile just 30 odd miles across the English Channel, the French are sensibly investing in new nuclear power technology.
