Sad news is the other 255 did not..... In all 294 of our MPs think we should be giving more money to Europe than the savage cuts, to use Labour's words, have saved thus far.

1. Labour gobbing off about anything - they are responsible for the depth of excreta we find ourselves in.

2. "Government supporters said it would be "nigh on impossible" to negotiate a budget reduction given the lack of support among other EU nations and urged MPs to back Mr Cameron's call for an inflation-linked rise as the minimum acceptable outcome."

So we cannot determine how much we pay the EU even though by democratic process we have decided to pay less? How the fec* does that work? Are we or aren't we a sovereign state?

3. EU membership - time for the referendum this Country so badly needs!!

I suspect the Cameron mindset goes - "if the UK puts up too many difficulties with the budget, the UK might be isolated and will be a step closer to withdrawing from Europe. Therefore I will huff and puff for domestic consumption, but vote for the status quo because it's important the UK stays at the heart of Europe".

I've got news for you Dave - withdrawing from Europe is becoming an increasingly popular option in the UK.

If we do pull out can we send the recent immigrants back that have come in under EU law ?

Especially the lawless Somalians

Somali's have no automatic right of settlement in the UK. Presumably then those that have settled here have done so as a result of asylum applications and been given indefinite leave to remain as per the convention on Human Rights and case law laid down by the ECHR of which the UK is a signatory.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Convention_on_Human_Rights
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Court_of_Human_Rights

The convention or the court itself has very little to do with the EU other than both have the name European in the title. If we were to exit the EU it would in all probability have very little effect on this type of immigration.

An exit however could stem the economic migrants from Eastern Europe as clearly if we were no longer members then we would not be bound by the free movement across borders and ability to work anywhere in the community parts of the treaty. On the other hand this would also apply to Brits who work in other parts of the EU. It would also put a very significant number of freeloading Euro MP's and a few EU commissioners (usually failed politicians such as Neil Kinnock, Mandelson and Clegg (once upon a time) ) out of work which is why I suspect it will never happen.

Of course it remains to be seen if those economic migrants from the community would be allowed to stay if the UK exits. Probably the EU's biggest success is peace across the continent since 1945, there is no getting away from that, however the framework exists for this to continue within a full and free trading organisation which the EU morphed from (The Common Market).

To repatriate those already here, working and settled is in my opinion unlikely to happen, that way could lie war..........

If you feel the level of immigration over the last 20 years or so has been detrimental to your way of life and or your kids job prospects then you need to examine who allowed it to happen. You will probably find it will be the same party who introduced tax credits and created a dependant benefit culture in the UK.

Every Extra immigrant you see = a likely vote for that particular party....

In other words there is no turning the clock back depending on how you look at it this is as good as it gets certainly in our lifetimes.. All that can be done is to slow the Countries decline.

I have an equal dislike for all the 'main parties' Jim, but wasn't it the Tories under Ted Heath who took us into this mess that is was/The Common Market/EEC/EC/EU in the first place ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_European_Communities_membership_referendum,_1975

Those aged 18 or over in 1975 were consulted about whether Britain should remain in the Common Market. I say remain as we had already joined but there was agenda underway to re-negotiate membership terms. All is revealed at the above URL

So on that basis Heath affirmed our membership within a mandate delivered by those who participated in the referendum.

Far be it from me to stick up for Heath and his ilk of around that time particularly as some rather worrying Saville like rumours are now going around under the radar...

Of course what we joined then the so called Common Market bears very little resemblance to what we have today with the European Union. Successive Governments both Labour and Tory have allowed this to happen without consulting the British People so all are to blame.

come a long way since the original six, its now a juggernaut out of control, that governs our lives Tony refused our say by signing on without a referendum nothing short of a dictator so all semblance of any democracy went out the window, now tied hook line and sinker. ;) ;)

Only because of the so called boom the Country was experiencing at the time. Everyone thought the good times would never end.

Blair and his Government pulled it off by not regulating the banks correctly who allowed anything with a pulse to lend up to 10x annual salary.

As we discovered in 2008 the boom was built on a debt fuelled credit binge. They were acutely aware of this so have betrayed the Country to the state it is now in for electoral advantage.
