Its still looking good Jon so fingers crossed. I'm hoping to get down to The South Coast for a couple of days, and with sea temperatures at their warmest this time of year, I may even be tempted to take a dip in the briny !!

The tropical storms in The Atlantic are playing havoc with any attempt at predictions or forecasts beyond the next 5 days, but here in London and The South East I'm fairly confident we will hang on to this spell of fine weather until late Sunday at least. Beyond that is anyones guess.

I'll you want to know what's happening beyond Sunday - I've got a week off so it's bound to chuck it down !

^^ Two developments to keep an eye on out in the Atlantic at the moment, neither of which are predicted to make landfall at the present time.

Hurricane Leslie is the first one, but Hurricane Michael is the one to watch. Its exploded into life almost overnight. Its the first Category 3 Atlantic hurricane this year, and just 24 hours ago it was being written off as a minor tropical storm.

Well sort of, going to Croydon Tuesday to have it serviced. They always wash them as part of the deal then I wash it properly soon after = double dip storm clouds homing in

^^ And the first sign of rain here in the South East is round about.......Tuesday. Uncanny.

Between now and then though we could well see the mercury rising to 26-27c ( 79-81f ) in the next few days, with some decent amounts of sunshine. Make the most of it folks.

So far so good this weekend. The Met Office site at RAF Northolt has recorded 27.2c this afternoon.

It may be my imagination, but September seems to have delivered some very decent weather in recent years, and October is not far behind. Pure speculation on my part but perhaps our seasons are shifting ?? The signs are that things will change as we get to Monday though, and I expect it to become much cooler by then. Temperatures in the range of 18-21c ( 64-70f ).

As for next week its anyones guess.

Two tropical storms out in The Atlantic ( Leslie and Michael ) are playing havoc with the computer models. There is even the possibility they may combine to form one huge storm system. The eastern seaboard of Canada needs to keep a close watch on this.

**UPDATED THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 20TH 2012**

My apologies for not posting more often, but my pc crashing was not ideal.

The Met Office and BBC have provided what I think is a good summary of the forecast for this weekend and beyond, based on the facts known to them at this time. Here is the link :

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/19650773

Ex Hurricane Nadine has been dancing around the Atlantic like a drunk on the dancefloor for over a week now, and still shows no signs of where she wants to go next. I said in earlier post the tracks of the this seasons tropical storms and potential hurricanes have been unusual, with most of them heading away from the USA and out into the mid Atlantic. Nadine is no exception.

The bbc link above proves the point.

As far as this weekend is concerned it really is a case of spinning a coin. Nobody knows where That Low Pressure system ( daughter of Nadine ) is heading. Personally I would tend towards Saturday being reasonable, but downhill from there until the middle of next week.

Thanks for reading and posting. Im not sure its worth my efforts any more though

Ive just spent over an hour researching the latest computer models and fax charts for the next 7 days to try and bring you a forecast and type it all out here in some detail, and suddenly my screen went blank and I lost the lot.

Had enough of it now. In a nutshell :

Saturday ok. Sunday to Tuesday.....wet and windy for most of us.
