haha! Yeah thats quite true! I'm friends with one of the ATC's at the airport I fly from and often wonder how he copes with it all! Leads to some good banter though ;)
Although sometimes ATC can be annoying, asking you for position reports etc when you are busy with something else and getting abit annoyed when you don't reply right away ;) :)

Cargo work is good! They are often the more unusual planes to visit Heathrow!

Not so much these days CF. Long gone are the days when I first started at Heathrow ( 1976, ) and we would hand load the likes of an Argosy freighter on the night shift. Occasionally the skipper would allow us to travel with them in the cockpit, there and back. I once managed a trip to Vienna and back on one of my 12 hour shifts !!

A good deal of air freight within Europe is actually trucked now, albeit with flight numbers and airline pre-fixes.

So.....getting back to the weather, Tuesday saw a slight improvement in as much it remained dry for most of London and the South East, but temperatures remained pathetically low again for this time of year. Northolt reached the glorious heights of 12.9c. The mercury is expected to rise by a couple of degrees in the next couple of days, but don't bother reaching for the sun cream yet.

Im still keeping an eye on the next low pressure system which is due to reach our shores late Thursday/Friday.....so there is more rain and wind on the way. As always a lot depends on the exact track and timing of this system, but the outlook for the weekend is not particularly promising.

I am still desperately looking for signs of a warm and settled spell of weather, but each computer model run seems to push the prospects further away. Most of the latest outputs show this pattern of unsettled weather continuing for the next 7 days and beyond. Several amateur weather stations in the South East have reported their coldest June day on record for Tuesday ( June 12th ).

Moley :(

Blimey. It has changed! I remember back in the 90's looking at the cargo apron with the likes of JAL Super Logistics there. Ashame that the times have changed! Argosys were before my time, I think!! It is sad that they don't take cargo ground crew on flights now. I guess thats how it is, sadly!
Although a few years back LHR did see an A124 so it isn't always so boring! ;)

The weather was rubbish here today! Overcast all day long and chilly too! Spent my birthday indoors!

Looking even further ahead the computer models are suggesting another deep Low Pressure system heading our way next Friday ( June 15th ) and this is something else I will try and monitor as the week progresses.

.......and monitor it I have. This latest Atlantic Low is alive and kicking, and right on our doorstep, just in time for the weekend.

There is still a great deal of uncertainty about the track of this system. For now I will post a link to Estofex. Friday could be quite lively in some parts.

This weekend is turning out to be one of the worst I can remember, given its 'summer'.

the Azores high has not materialised so far this year, as soon as barometric rises it is falling away so quick and not establishing itself. :o
