Some good jobs! I'm not sure what my grandads brother did but his name is Tom Flynn. No idea if he worked with your relatives at all though.

My Dad worked in the Tool drawing office 1940/1948 moved over to HMV as Chief Draughtsman, thats how I got started in my App 1953, paid off big time.

I have not been down there lately. Are the old Fairey (art deco) offices still there? Safeway used to use them for offices for supply chain if memory serves me right.

No what was the Art Deco buildings were knocked down quite a few years ago. Safeways was there from 1975 to 2006 then Morrisons took them over. Most of the buildings are still there but none of the original Fairey buildings are there anymore. I did post a few pictures of the site a few years ago.

Interesting the number of "Faireys" in this column.

I worked for Fairey Aviation the early part of 1940, in the Rate Fixing Department, left to work at HMV.
