I know somebody who moved to Wales and still works for one of the companies in Uxbridge. She has been doing it for years without problems.

She just goes to the Head Office now and again.

Where is your home town?

Quite a drive from here then!

My family live across the water in Tenby (60 miles further on)

Is it raining there? (it's tipping down here)

err, are you bragging or complaining? some body has to live there, when I was on the road was there 3 times a week to Port Talbot for return loads back to the London area, before motorways were built, you probably grew up with the Ostermilk I delivered to that part of the world as my downloads were always Glaxo stuff, and return loads were always steel from Port Talbot or tin plate from Llamelli. :( :(

I remember the extremely long journeys in the 60's to visit my grandparents in Porthcawl. No motorways or Severn Bridge and it used to take hours and hours sitting in the back of my dad's Hillman Minx.

It takes me four hours to drive to Tenby these days :-)

Chepstow was the bottle neck going down, and more than one lorry has gone into the river unable to stop at the lights over the bridge, or be a near runaway at Lidney hill going down the A48 had more than its share of mishaps, the Severn Bridge was not build when I was doin it.

I remember the queues at Chepstow. My dad used to tell us that once over the bridge we would be in Wales. I remember going right through the middle of Cardiff too and looking at all the shops as we drove past.

The Severn Bridges cut a lot of the journey off but they put the price up every single year - it costs a fortune now.
