I must be the only one missing the point here.

When the clocks change to BST from GMT the mornings get darker not lighter !

Last week, at 06:00 when I was just arriving at work it was just starting to get light, now at 06:00 it's pitch dark.

Its not this end of the change its the other one.

When the clocks go back where it was only getting light in the British Northern latitudes at 9.00am it moves this to 8.00 am. Course it still gets darker earlier but by then the kids are adjudged to be more switched on and attuned to their surroundings as it is later in the day.

To be honest what is there to stop England and Scotland existing on different time zones by one hour? Clearly the vested interests will argue it will impact business needs but we do a lot of business with Europe and the USA and they exist in different time zones.

Sorry to say Kremm but I think you are missing the point. Yes its getting light an hour later now, but that still means we are getting daylight at round 7am. As we head through Spring and Summer it will start getting light much earlier. BST gives us longer hours of daylight in the evening. Im all for that

the plan for the Tories, is to delay pension payout til a later date by stealth, from next year time will be extended by introducing double summertime during the months with a "R" in them treble summertime for the rest, and February two extra days added to bring it into line with the rest, working time will be a 48 hour norm, time and a tenth overtime rate for the first 8 hours in any one week, everybody will have a tax rate of 25% on every thing they earn with this will go up by 2% for every child so 4 kids = 33% thus reducing the deficit on the Countries debit, its estimated most of the overflow of immigrants will say sod this and go home, thus reducing the demand on housing, public transport, and holiday bookings at Butlins, every body is a winner, easy peasy dont know what all the fuss is about with tuppence a litre on petrol :( :o
