... probably because of Child Benefit. Why on earth they don't limit it to the first child like China beats me. They are positively encouraging unemployed football team size families, madness.

if you follow this situation through to its logical conclusion, once all the available spare land has been exhausted, do we demolish obsolete buildings, convert factories, take over farmland, what about the motorways? they will be unable to handle the extra traffic, so why not build on them? cant anybody see the situation will accelerate the deeper we go into this situation, there have been many experiments with rats, and overpopulating their environment, has always led to a breakdown in their society, so why do we amplify the problem ? would it be that the politicos know by passing the problem to future generations they let themselves off the hook sooner than later a decision has to be made.

Thanks for the detailed response councillor.

Why is there a proposal to use Lake Farm when there are brown field sites available? I know there is a move in Central Government to overhaul planning regulation but the current advice still remains to use brownfield wherever possible to try and curtail the urban sprawl over the green belt.

I and others I am sure could name quite a few sites that may be suitable across Hayes and Harlington.

Finally if the proposal is not yet set in stone what exactly is the role of this firm VSM? The way you have phrased your answer seems to suggest that the new school will either go onto the ex RAF site or at Lake Farm? You seem to suggest that VSM will be given the contract to build irrespective of any tendering procedure.

geezer

i hope i haven't worded it that way, as going by current projections we need both sites to be schools to meet the demand. As for 'brownfield' site's, i know officers were looking into all possibilities before they came back with the most viable option

If this is your backyard why are you allowing this to happen rather than as it seems you are going along with it.

Just when did the residents get consulted that they wanted a school built on what is a public country park for all to enjoy.

Why havent brownfield sites been proposed/identifide before PUBLIC COMMON land.

There was a government report back in the sixties saying that Hayes did not have enough green and open spaces for the density of the population.

Perhaps if this council had any forsite it would of planned properly that if it build housing constantly/relentlesly in even the smallest too the largest parcells of land in particular area that there will be a need for schools hospitals surgerys police transport etc etc.

Once again I find myself saying that there is a north south divide, why is Northolt areodromme still being used for ten flights a day you could get a mini social housing city there, why dont they knock down Winston Churchill hall for more housing the need is there.

Bishops Ramsey school(north of borough)sold a site recently sorry did they get planning for social housing....NO you can all guess what for

Just when will the north of the borough suffer the monolith of social housing that happens in the south, plush swankey two bedroom apartments with large balconys or Ickenham park with gated communitys in the north.

How much is being spent on the Ruislip Lido.

How much was spent on the new Hayes pool and the new Uxbridge lido and the correlation to the density of population?

You would oppose this as you are from the otherside of the fence from our local MP who has exposed the councils secrecy and underhand dealings.

I do believe the purpose of the Hayes swimming pool (THE OLD ONE) was to create a brownfield site from a green one, and now history is repeating itself with the new pool, they will never revert, Flats along the Uxbridge Rd from the Grapes westward, was what then was green belt, so why bother in the first place its all a sham. :o
