Received an email from a local activist asking me to call him to check if I was a bona fide Labour supporter. He asked me various questions to obviously 'test' my allegiance and the seemed surprised that I had already voted online. He was an Yvette Cooper supporter! He seemed worried by the support going to Jeremy.

I am dismayed by a party so blinded by political correctness, who introduce a leadership voting system which is so accessible that the likes of Rich Kid are determined to mess it up. In the rush to weaken the unions influence on the labour leadership, that influence has been passed to extremist Tories like RK!! (you couldn't make it up!!)

Rich Kid - you and those trying to rig the vote are a disgrace to democracy. It would be amusing (albeit I accept, very very unlikely) if Corbyn was made leader then was involved in at least a coalition - or outright PM!!

However, the Labour Party must take the lions share or the blame for cobbling together this process. It really does show how leaderless and directionless they are - and makes the likes of me (who wants to support them), question if they are ready to govern. After all, if they can mess up this simple task, how on earth are they going to cope with running UK PLC?

I watched Harriet Harman on the TV tonight unconvincingly claiming she supports the process when all her body language was saying the opposite. I do feel a bit sorry for her having to clear this mess up, but she should come clean - admit its a balls up - and start again with the ballot

Come on SOT, claiming that Rich Kid is “a disgrace to democracy” is going a bit OTT.

When did any of the LibLabCON last engage in true democracy? They all follow the globalist agenda without any reference to the electorate. Rich Kid is only taking his lead from the undemocratic political parties in the hope that in some small way he can upset the undemocratic plans, in this case, of the Labour Party.

If I remember the quote correctly, it was Mr Putin who said: “It isn't the voters that count, it is those who count the vote.” Which confirms what many of us believe about the current voting system, especially since postal voting was introduced.

Here are just couple of examples of underhand dealings by the LabCON:
http://www.theguardian.com/politics/200 ... stalvoting
Quote:
Tony Blair is promoting his party's "farming" of postal vote applications in a national mailshot which defies advice from returning officers that there should be no third party involvement in the process.
Returning officers want political parties to withdraw from the postal voting process in the run up to the general election, in an attempt to restore public confidence in a system which has been undermined by recent fraud cases in Birmingham and Blackburn.

Enclosed in Mr Blair's letter to electors across the country is an application form for a postal vote. On the rear of the form is printed a freepost address in Gosforth, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, for the "Postal Votes Centre" where completed forms should be sent.

On visiting the address, the Guardian discovered the centre was in fact Labour's communication headquarters for the election campaign.
Inside a nondescript office, staff sat behind piles of completed postal vote applications - all of which returning officers say should have been sent direct to them by voters except in exceptional circumstances.

Mr Blair is not alone in acting contrary to their advice. Michael Howard, in a personal letter to voters, asks them to return their application forms to a national party centre in Dartford, Kent, while Charles Kennedy requests electors to return the forms to the party's local offices.

Surely it's no different from tactical voting.

Hold your nose and vote for a a party you disagree with purely to keep someone you disagree with even more from attaining power?

That is proper democracy. If enough people think Mrs Balls, Kendal or the Burnham bloke are a better option they are welcome to follow the same procedure join Labour and vote as they wish. Corbyn is different a conviction politician(good thing) with fresh ideas (good thing) which he is entitled to pitch to the electorate.

RK may think he has voted for the good of the Tories but Corybn does have significant support of his own. Not that I think he will be winning a General Election any time soon.

But stranger things have happened....

Sounds batty I know but I know people who will vote Corbyn for his policy not for any other reason.

SOT, allow me to set you straight on a few facts: I am NOT an extremist Tory, I have never belonged to any political party, even UKIP. I am not 'messing up' the Labour leadership election I'm merely taking part as is my democratic right under rules established by the Labour party, what's wrong with that?

If exercising my democratic rights is 'a disgrace to democracy' then I begin to wonder what form of democracy you support?

Good chance your vote will be disqualified RK....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-34047788

How that stands with the Courts if Corybn fails to win now god knows.....

If people are card carrying supporters of a party having paid their subscription they are entitled to vote. To disqualify those votes in not democratic whatever the reason.

If Corbyn is the popular choice he should be allowed to win irrespective of the quality of the votes he receives. The other 3 contenders are after all entitled to go out and seek new supporters of their own.

It is not illegal (yet) to be members of more than one political party...

As I've said I've never been a member of a political party or a trade union but having paid my £3 I was invited to vote, so I did. Personally I prefer Corbyn to the other three Blair cut-outs, at least he believes in what he's saying.

I like him because he will make Labour unelectable.

You watch red Ken and all the other loony left cronies come out of the woodwork if he gets elected.
