Seems funny that all our home grown terrorists have had previous contacts with the security services.

I find that very hard to believe to be honest.

I find it reassuring that the Intelligence agencies have intercepted most of these 'home grown' terrorists. In many cases, they try an turn them into informers and if they get no luck, there seems little they can do other than these useless TPIMs. (as long as the individual isn't mentally ill or otherwise upset by the electronic leg bracelet!!)

Bring back Control Orders and give the Intelligence agencies some teeth!!

If Tunisia can close down 80 mosques that preach an extreme fundamentalist form of Islam ('Salafi' strand of Islam) then why cannot the authorities in this country do something similar - we know that a number of mosques in the UK are Salafi dominated and teach extreme beliefs yet the authorities seem to do nothing to challenge them - come to that nor do mainstream British Moslems!

Cameron shouts a good shout but does little afterwards. Plus with our senile judges giving out stupid sentences to there is no real deterrent.

The freedom of speech ethic is strong here and there are protections under the EctHR...

Activists like Choudary (legally trained) know how to preach and just stay inside the law of incitement so making him and the rest of the hate preachers untouchable. Tunisia being North Africa has no such scruples they call it for what it is.....

This believe it or not is legal. They are careful in what they say (chants) and generalise. So long as they avoid incitement they stay within the law protecting freedom of speech.
