Surprising considering Hounslow gets a load of noise with inbound flights.

Maybe the council were selective or incompetent in how they handled the voting system?

Maybe given the ethnic makeup of the Borough not everyone understood the content or the intent of the leaflets.

I am not being PC when I say that when you have a large intake of immigrants who cannot even be bothered to learn English then you get outcomes like this.
Though knowing Hounslow they probably translated the leaflet into a dozen different languages at taxpayers expense. The article though is silent on the matter and Hounslow council being pro expansion may not have translated it for their own ends.

Good heads up though if LBH are ever to run one. They will need to be on top of their game.

Hounslow is a lost cause anyway.. Maybe they should flatten the whole lot of it and move the airport a little bit East.

Hounslow's not pro expansion though Geezer. That's why it's such an embarrassment.

The LBH did run one, I got it though the post early last year and responded and according to Hillingdon people magazine the vast majority who responded were firmly against expansion.

Talk of the devil - I had another Heathrow questionnaire through the letterbox today.

This one was different though. It was not from the council but from the pro Back-Heathrow mob at Premier House, Hounslow.

The print on the form says that they need your full name and address and email address and by returning the form you are giving them permission to contact you. To opt out of contact you need to write in. I'm not surprised people are reluctant to respond if this is the same survey.

Who are "Back Heathrow"? Always follow the money.

See here:
http://www.backheathrow.org/about_us
Quote:
Back Heathrow is a group of residents, businesses and community groups who have come together to campaign for a secure future for Heathrow Airport and defend the 100,000+ jobs that depend on it.
We now have more than 80,000 supporters signed up to the campaign. A map showing our supporters can be found here.
Our Campaign Co-ordinator is Rob Gray, and we initially launched with funding from Heathrow Airport. But we have since grown!  If you'd like to join the residents, businesses and local groups backing our campaign please do sign up. You're also very welcome to follow us on Twitter @BackHeathrow or like us on Facebook.

Check out the address of Back Heathrow using google earth:
Quote:
Premier House, 50-52 Cross Lances Road, Hounslow, TW3 2AA.
The above address will take some money to pay the rent, office space, salaries, overheads, etc. Clearly this organisation doesn't appear to be a residents association.

Who/what is Rob Gray?

Who or what is/are the Aviation Foundation? And do we see below what Back Heathrow has "since grown" into?
See here:

A four-point plan to avoid a further “fudging” of UK aviation policy has been outlined by industry leaders.
The chief executives of BAA, British Airways, Manchester Airports Group and Virgin Atlantic have joined forces with along with heads of the British Chambers of Commerce and the TUC under the auspices of the Aviation Foundation.
Back Heathrow appears to be a lobbing and pressure group paid for, run by, and for the benefit of the aviation businesses.

I'm happy to tell them I think Heathrow is already too big and causing local transport issues but I'm not happy to give them carte blanche to keep pestering me.
