What would the BBC and Justin Welby preferred had happened; that the British had simply invited Hitler and his Nazis Storm-troopers into Britain to inflict the same carnage and hatred on our society that they did all across Europe?

Do the reports below suggest that Welby and the BBC are actively encouraging and supporting the coming EU dictatorship over of us and and our nation? Are Welby and the BBC looking forward to seeing death camps all across Britain?

The Archbishop of Canterbury:

Quote:
The Archbishop of Canterbury last night issued an extraordinary apology for the British bombing of Dresden during the Second World War.
In what was immediately criticised as an insult to the young men who gave their lives to defeat the Nazis, the Most Rev Justin Welby told the German people of his ‘profound feeling of regret and deep sorrow’ over the attack.

The BBC:

Quote:
The BBC’s coverage of the bombing of Dresden in which Britain was described as ‘worse than the Nazis’ was condemned as disgraceful by RAF veterans and MPs last night.

An important point though is that Dresden involved the mass targeting of civilians, even in a war situation there should have been a responsibility not to sink to the level of the Nazi's.

What a load of ball bearings, I don't think there are lot of us left that can really remember what was going on then, well I can, I was born 1937 and went thru WW2 in Hayes being told by my parents if hear or see a flying thing on my way to Pinkwell school run for cover in one of the many shelters located nearest me and there were many, all gone now so it did not happen, sleeping in an iron cage in the front room, gigantic flying bombs aimed at random for London from France, Dresdon was in retaliation for what Germany was doing to us and others, put down your bibles and read a history book or two, apologise, ball bearings, and as John Cleese says, you started it, to this day I will not buy a German beer, car or anything related to that country.

We could go on and on, no apologies from me, all those hundreds of thousands supporting that idiot, are all those bullet holes still in the brickwork of Townfield school main entrance aimed at kids as they ran for cover.

Understand your post up to an extent based on your experiences

But supposing a German was born in 1950, his/her offspring is born in 1973, then their kids are born in 1998? What would they have to do with the events of the mid 20th Century?, modern day Germany's been very progressive as regards facing up to it's dark history.

I'm very sceptical about the notion that there's some intrinsic 'fascist gene' that other places and races are more susceptible to. Also worth noting is who Uncle Sam chose as the economic and political powerhouse of Europe post WW2, the U.S / U.K relationship is certainly a 'special one' but not in the way we're meant to believe.

The Germans unleashed massive death and destruction across Europe. They alone are responsible for Dresden. Dad, who lived through the terror that Germany inflicted on the world, says there were suspicions that vital German military activities were moved to Dresden, a historic city, because they calculated that it would not be attacked.

One wonders what is going to be said when its the 75th Anniversary of the Dam Busters, will they be classed as Criminals ? Now classed as a War Crime to bomb a dam, what next, remove all war memorials such as the new Bomber Memorial near Hyde Park, it took a long time to get one built for the young men who severed in Bomber Command.

Following extract from the Australian Memorial some of it think will find of interest.

No overview of RAF Bombing Campaign in WW2, however brief, would be complete without mentioning the controversial RAF and USAF bombing of Dresden as requested by the Russians in February 1945, and which caused such terrible loss of life and destruction. In his recently published book ‘Lancaster Men The Aussie Heroes of Bomber Command’, Peter Rees quotes Dresden’s own Stadt Museum, which states that Dresden was a justifiable military target, being an important military communications and Munitions manufacturing centre vital to the Nazi war effort. The museum furthermore observes that given the Nazi bombing of Guernica, Rotterdam, Coventry and London etc, and despite contemporary Nazi propaganda and much other censure since , there is no high moral ground when prosecuting total war.

Perhaps every man and woman still alive who lived through that war should sue Europe's most prosperous country for compensation.
