The Telegraph this morning has demonstrated a level of journalism rarely seen today in the UK.

The first paragraph of this article nails it....

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... t-now.html

Quote:
Let’s start with a riddle. If South Yorkshire Police can mount a raid on Sir Cliff Richard’s home in pursuit of evidence linked to a single allegation of child sex abuse 30 years ago, why were South Yorkshire Police incapable of pursuing multiple allegations against multiple men who raped 1,400 children over 16 years?

The first paragraph in the Telegraph sums it all up so well. It's shocking and morally disgusting that none of the senior management in the Police or Council, past and present, have resigned apart from the deputy Police Commissioner Tracey Cheetham.

1,400 vunerable children abused over 16 years yet:

Shaun Wright, Police & Crime Commissioner refuses to resign despite the fact he was Labour Councillor responsible for children's services in Rotherham from 2005 to 2010 when the abuse was at its worst. The report on the abuse came as 'a huge surprise' to him!!

Joyce Thacker, Rotherham's £115,000 pa director of children's services when 4 years ago a gang of Asian men were convicted of raping and abusing young girls, refuese to resign, instead she blames the parents!

Sonia Sharp
, director of children's services from 2005 to 2008, when shocking sexual abuse was rampant and the ethnic dimension covered up, won a national Local Government Chronicle award for her team performing so well! She is now advising Malaysia on 'best practice' in dealing with child development!

Paul Larkin, cabinet member for children's services since 2010, and deputy council leader says he only recently discovered the'depth and breadth' of the sex abuse problem in the town!

Mark Edgell, council leader from 2000 to 2003, accused by Prof. Jay of failing to give child sexual exploitation enough attention or resources. Reports outlining abuse were also suppressed by the council in 2002 and ignored in 2003. He is now principal adviser on children's services at the Local Government Association!

Martin Kimber, £160,000 pa chief executive of Rotherham Council since 2009 has refused to sack or discipline a single senior council officer despite damning evidence of failure and incompetence. He then had the nerve to say that Jay's report 'confirms our services are stronger today than ever before'!!

Ged Fitzgerald, chief executive from 2001 to 2003, is accused of allowing one report warning of child sex grooming to be suppressed on his watch and another ignored. He is currently on holiday abroad from his £199,500 pa job as chief executive of Liverpool City Council!

Mike Cuff, chief executive from 2004 to 2009, admits he failed to prevent 'appalling abuse' on his watch. Now retired on a full pension, he 'could not recall' the 2006 report to the council about gangs of Pakistani men grooming girls fro sex!

What a load of blame-shifters with no sense of decency or of 'doing the right thing' - what does a person in public service have to do in order to resign nowadays? It seems our public servants nowadays are morally bankrupt!

They don't care and they are reluctant to give up their 6 figure salaries.

Central Gov should sack the lot

Is there a conflict of interest when a local authority, the police, plus other bodies, are in a “partnership”?

With the heads of the various 'partnership' members, such as the local authority and the police, meeting around the same table table to discuss 'partnership' policies, is it possible for the police to be independent and impartial when it comes to investigating crime within a local authority? I doubt it.

Working with 'our partners' seems to be a phrase commonly used which is supposed to indicate joined-up thinking and a co-operative collaborative system of working - but in fact is it more a case of never being able to accurately button down responsbility and true accountability? When a problem arises the wagons are circled.

It's all part of the Common Purpose methodology...

Also explains why there are never any sackings or prosecutions when things go badly wrong (Rotherham) everyone is watching each others back.

BBC Panorama are doing a feature on Rotherham.

Seems that the whistle-blowers documents were deliberately destroyed at the time. These people, if known, should be jailed.

And still Cameron wanders around Downing Street without a care in the World...

This issue worries all of us. He should speak up and show some leadership......

Has been said before but Rotherham is just the tip of the iceburg. All the mid to large mill towns across Lancs and Yorks have a significant Pakistani population. A lot of them are also said to be at it.

To qualify that statement important I point out that not the whole communities are at fault, simply numbers of their menfolk. Unless of course the reports are true and blind eyes were turned.

There have been riots in the last few Months in Oldham and I think Bolton. At the time the news was suppressed possibly by D Notice. It is rumoured the riots were about the same sort of abuse and were a protest that plod did nothing to stop it.

Still going on and the same culprits still think they are untouchable.

http://news.sky.com/story/1332453/man-a ... ex-charges

Quote:
A man from Rotherham has appeared in court charged with child sex offences in connection with the alleged abduction of two girls.

Vejuhadin Ghorbani, from the Clifton area of Rotherham, is accused of causing, or inciting, a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity, and child abduction.

The two girls aged 11 and 13 were reported missing from the Rotherham area at 10.20pm on Saturday. Their disappearance sparked a major police hunt, with officers from across the South Yorkshire force drafted in to help.

Mr Ghorbani, 37, appeared in the dock during the brief hearing and spoke through an interpreter.

Reading out the charges, district judge Jonathan Taaffe said: "Between Saturday September 6 and Sunday September 7 of this year at Rotherham, being a person aged 18 or over, you intentionally attempted to cause or incite a girl aged 13, not reasonably believing she was aged 16 or over, to engage in sexual activity.
