I can't believe how thick some people are, going on about it being fake and a scam because she's not a real judge any more and the TV company pays any amounts she awards, as if we're being conned. I knew that already. Can't remember if I googled it in the past, or read about it somewhere, but I've known for years it worked like that and both parties have to sign a contract agreeing to accept her decision.

Its the US legal equivalent of Jeremy Kyle and his DNA tests.....

Great car crash TV if you want to see the great unwashed washing their dirty linen in public. Those who appear on Kyle also have to sign a contract and adhere to certain rules. All in the interests in providing so called entertainment to the masses.

Some years ago I was loosely acquainted with a lady from the Hayes area who had alcohol problems who appeared on Kyle. Her kids sponsored her appearance on the show in the hope it would break her reliance on alcohol.
All she was interested was the fee (and it is a quite modest £500 if memory serves me correctly) and you can guess what she spent that on.

I've often thought that Kyle was staged for entertainment.

Most things on TV are fake, or if not then heavily planned, produced and scripted. Very little is ever genuinely spontaneous or left to chance.

Returning to the topic, an endowment mortgage is an 'interest only mortgage' with the endowment as collateral (plus the house of course), to repay the original mortgage amount. I fail to see how the couple failed to comprehend their situation. Surely they would have expected to see two payments a month taken from their bank account, one to cover the interest to the building society and the second to ABC Life Assurance for the premium. Did they never consider life cover should one of them die? Was life cover never discaussed? Of course the endowment would have provided life cover and a sizeable sum to help repay the mortgage at the end of the term.
Whilst I feel sorry for the couple in their perdicament I do feel there is a bit of 'bank/building society bashing' going on here and that the couple are perhaps not so niave as they appear to be. In a David vs Goliath battle it's easy to side with David but I feel that sometimes this emotion can hide certain hidden issues, and I say this as no lover or supporter of Big Banks.

With respect Rich Kid; the issue here is one of serious fraud by the bank/s and the willingness of the court/s to go along with it.

I can't remember the full details now, but a few weeks ago on one of the money programs on BBC Radio 4, the issue of fraud by financial bodies against fully paid up and mortgage-free properties was discussed; that is where I discovered this e link to the Land Registry web page http://www.landregistry.gov.uk/public/property-fraud “Protect your home from property fraud”.

Another example of Fraudulent activity. In this one you can see an example of a stamped fraudulent court document that doesn't identify the originating court:

Tom Crawford has won his case against Bradford and Bingley ( http://www.bbg.co.uk/ )
the bailiffs:

Here is Tom Crawford with his assistant Guy Taylor outside the court:

Lies, fraud, attempted illegal repossession, and contempt of court by the opposition; who would have thought that possible from mortgage providers, bailiff companies, government agencies and heavy-weight legal teams?
