There isn't actually any organisation called Al Qeada. There are lots of Islamist fanatics and western governments lazily or misleadingly talk of them as "Al Qaeda". There's actually never been an organisation of that name.

The Security and Intelligence agencies across the world (including UK and US) use AQ and AQAP (Al Qeada in the Arabian Peninsular) and many more variants when issuing public statements and communicating with each other

Are they wrong to do so?

I am interested in the origin of your statement

Former US vice President Dick Cheney warning of another terrorist spectacular which will make 9/11 look like a walk in the park.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... -over.html

Quote:
Former vice president Dick Cheney believes that a terrorist attack even worse than the destruction of the twin towers on September 11, 2001 is probable before the end of the decade.

Cheney appeared on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show on Tuesday and was asked if he thought the United States would ‘get through this decade without another massive attack on the homeland.’

‘I doubt it,’ Cheney said. ‘I think there will be another attack and the next time I think it’s likely to be far deadlier than the last one. You can just imagine what would happen if somebody could smuggle a nuclear device, put it in a shipping container, and drive it down the beltway outside Washington D.C.’

Meanwhile we have 500+ jihads with British passports eventually inbound once they have finished their killing and terrorising in Syria and Iraq and due to the constraints of the HRA it seems the Authorities are at a loss as to what to do with them. Keeping an eye on them with increased budgets for spooks with the knock on cost to the taxpayer seems the only thing they want to do so far.

It will take a Mumbai type spectacular on a Bluewater or Brent Cross type shopping centre before the authorities will sit up and make the difficult decisions.

As some people are now beginning to point out a question of when no If these days.............

This article presents a good summary of the background to the “War on Terror” and the myth of Al-Qaida (THE DATABASE).
http://www.infowars.com/11-reasons-why- ... -not-real/

Quote:
The U.S. government created, and funded Islamic fundamentalism in the 1980s to be used to draw the Soviet Union into Afghanistan, and bleed it to death in a costly and unwinnable war. This was no doubt a smart move when you have a strategic hat on, when you are sitting comfortably on the seat of power, but when you are confronting issues of peace and war, life and death, coexistence and annihilation, on a very small planet, it was a very cynical and dangerous error. Zbigniew Brzezinski, who is considered a realist in foreign policy circles and a critic of Israel, was one of the leaders behind the operation as President Jimmy Carter’s National Security Advisor. In an interview he gave to a weekly French magazine called “Le Nouvel Observateur” in January 1998 he discussed how and why the U.S. funded Muslim terrorists (or freedom fighters, depending on your outlook). Excerpt from the interview:
Q: When the Soviets justified their intervention by asserting that they intended to fight against a secret involvement of the United States in Afghanistan, people didn’t believe them. However, there was a basis of truth. You don’t regret anything today?
Brzezinski: Regret what? That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Russians into the Afghan trap and you want me to regret it? The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter. We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam War. Indeed, for almost 10 years, Moscow had to carry on a war unsupportable by the government, a conflict that brought about the demoralization and finally the break-up of the Soviet empire.

Quote:
Robin Cook, who served as a British MP for 22 years and as Foreign Secretary from 1997 to 2001, wrote an article for the Guardian in July 2005, a month before his death, called “The struggle against terrorism cannot be won by military means.” Throughout the article Cook makes many devastating critiques of the West’s war on terror, but here is a quote that requires our greatest attention:
“Bin Laden was, though, a product of a monumental miscalculation by western security agencies. Throughout the 80s he was armed by the CIA and funded by the Saudis to wage jihad against the Russian occupation of Afghanistan., literally “the database”, was originally the computer file of the thousands of mujahideen who were recruited and trained with help from the CIA to defeat the Russians.”
This quote is confirmed below from Robin Cooks article in the Guardian.

Quote:
A different world is possible. A world with universal and permanent peace on Earth is not a Utopian dream. There are no reasons for conflict in the world today. The threat of “terrorism” is a manufactured threat. Al-Qaeda doesn’t exist. And 9/11 is a big lie. In sum, the War on Terror is totally illegitimate and criminal. The governments of United States, England, Canada, Australia, and Israel represent the only obstacle to peace in the Middle East. Their leaders have committed crimes against humanity, and must be brought to justice.

Robin Cook wrote in the Guardian a month before he died.

Al-Qaida, literally "the database", was originally the computer file of the thousands of mujahideen who were recruited and trained with help from the CIA to defeat the Russians. Inexplicably, and with disastrous consequences, it never appears to have occurred to Washington that once Russia was out of the way, Bin Laden's organisation would turn its attention to the west.

From that Wikepdia article:

Quote:
Marc Sageman, a psychiatrist and former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer, said that al-Qaeda is now just a "loose label for a movement that seems to target the West". "There is no umbrella organisation. We like to create a mythical entity called [al-Qaeda] in our minds, but that is not the reality we are dealing with."[46]

and

Quote:
This view mirrors the account given by Osama bin Laden in his October 2001 interview with Tayseer Allouni:

... this matter isn't about any specific person and... is not about the al-Qa`idah Organization. We are the children of an Islamic Nation, with Prophet Muhammad as its leader, our Lord is one... and all the true believers [mu'mineen] are brothers. So the situation isn't like the West portrays it, that there is an 'organization' with a specific name (such as 'al-Qa`idah') and so on. That particular name is very old. It was born without any intention from us. Brother Abu Ubaida... created a military base to train the young men to fight against the vicious, arrogant, brutal, terrorizing Soviet empire... So this place was called 'The Base' ['Al-Qa`idah'], as in a training base, so this name grew and became. We aren't separated from this nation. We are the children of a nation, and we are an inseparable part of it, and from those public *** which spread from the far east, from the Philippines, to Indonesia, to Malaysia, to India, to Pakistan, reaching Mauritania... and so we discuss the conscience of this nation."[47]
