I wouldn't be so sure about that. When I think just how very powerful "smart" phones are. Just wait till your smart fridge is talking to your smart meter. And then your smart TV, smart radio, smart laptop, smart phone, smart heaters, smart a/c units... all talking to your smart meter. Massive potential for state invasion of privacy.

And wait till your smart meter can turn off your heating because you've run out of carbon credits.

This where the future lies:

Quote:
A luxury toilet controlled by a smartphone app is vulnerable to attack, according to security experts.

Retailing for up to $5,686 (£3,821), the Satis toilet includes automatic flushing, bidet spray, music and fragrance release.

The toilet, manufactured by Japanese firm Lixil, is controlled via an Android app called My Satis.

But a hardware flaw means any phone with the app could activate any of the toilets, researchers say.

The toilet uses bluetooth to receive instructions via the app, but the Pin code for every model is hardwired to be four zeros (0000), meaning that it cannot be reset and can be activated by any phone with the My Satis app, a report by Trustwave's Spiderlabs information security experts reveals.

"An attacker could simply download the My Satis application and use it to cause the toilet to repeatedly flush, raising the water usage and therefore utility cost to its owner," it says in its report.

"Attackers could [also] cause the unit to unexpectedly open/close the lid, activate bidet or air-dry functions, causing discomfort or distress to [the] user."

Nothing more, nothing less? I have to disagree with you Geezer. You are grossly under-estimating the reach and influence of smart meters.

The EU issued a directive that 80% of our homes should have smart meters installed by 2020. I say again, the EU issued this directive. Now there is no way that the EU can ever be accused of reducing operating costs of anything. Neither can the EU ever be accused of reducing unlawful extraction of money from the people. This is the same illegal EU that has refused to have its annual accounts properly audited and signed off for the last 18 years or so; the same greedy EU that demands mind boggling increases in its tax-take year on year from states that are bankrupt. This is the same spendthrift EU where its own commissioners and staff enjoy spending unlimited amounts of our money on their own personal wealth and comfort. Cost-effectiveness and the EU are a contradiction in terms.

So, smart meters have nothing to do with reducing operating costs, nor with improving efficiency. They have everything to with controlling of our lives.

The EU is a totally undemocratic organisation that lusts for total control over the lives of the peoples under it dominion. The EU is a fascist dictatorship – a major part of the evolving globalist fascist one-world government. The fascist element is highlighted in the fact that so many of the globalist business organisations are extremely willing and happy to partner with dictatorial politicians and governments.

This link http://stopsmartmeters.org.uk/ that I previously provided shows a map of the globe with the nations marked where smart meters are being deployed as part of the globalist system of monitoring and control. This is a global grid of control that has nothing to do with reducing employment costs, nor any other form of business efficiency. It is global government of the globe by globalists elitists – it represents global dictatorship of the worst kind.

Jon is spot-on in his post above, smart meters form the domestic hubs of the global smart network that is spying on us, and will fully control us.

Ed Snowden can see what is going on.
