I agree with you totally. It's tragic but the child should have been properly supervised and then he wouldn't have run into the road.

They will all be in shock at the moment and blaming each other - it was an awful thing to happen.

I know it's tragic but I agree.

Car seat fitted, then collect the child. Especially on a major road in this area.

I live in a cul-de-sac off a minor road and they still come hurtling round the corner often having to brake hard because there is a parked car and someone is coming the other way.

Yes there is and at 3 years old he must have been tall for his age if he was able to unlock the door.

Quote:
She said the father was about to take him to the park when he ran ahead quickly out of the door and was knocked over immediately.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: He wanted to go and play in the park. "The driver tried to break and all the neighbours came out. People said they heard the noise of the breaking, saw the boy and saw the mother crying.

Then Gazette reporter can't spell.

3 year olds can open front doors - my daughter gets round this by locking the door and removing the keys so the kids can't get out onto the street.

There will be lots of "if only's"

If only the child had stayed indoors
If only the truck wasn't driving along the road at that time
If only the truck was going slower

It was a tragic accident and I feel really sorry for the family and the driver concerned.
