Well, Cllr Burrows,I must say, it has taken a very long time for you and your colleagues to start sending out serious messages concerning illegal and unsafe accommodation in Hillingdon.

Back in 2003 and 2004, myself and a neighbour desperately tried to get LBH and the police involved with illegal and unsafe rented accommodation in Hayes. Two 3 bedroomed houses were being rented out to far more foreign tenants than a 3 bedroomed house was ever intended accomodate, or could do so safely.

Both houses appeared to be accommodating as many as 12 to 15 adults at any one time. There was constant and very noisy comings and goings of the occupants 24/7, with a minibus bringing changeovers of 'tenants' at all hours. There must have been hot-bedding going on. From the noise frequently coming through the party wall adjoining our bedroom, the equivalent bedroom next door regularly sounded like there was an all-night orgy going on, with very large numbers of participants involved. These all-night sessions would begin about 8 o'clock in the evening and frequently continue until dawn the next morning. I have seen naked teenage/early twenties girls being chased around the rear and front gardens in the early hours of the morning. In the mornings I frequently found hypodermic needles in my own garden. I could report much more, but I suspect the picture is quite visible by now.

I phoned the local authority on many occasions. I wrote to the LBH. I begged the police to investigate. In the end, I was left with no alternative but to leave Hayes. That was one of the best decisions I have made in my life.

There has been a step change these last few Months about how they deal with the Asian grooming gangs. This is largely down to a new broom installed as head of the CPS in the NW. Of Asian descent himself he is to be applauded in that he sees a certain demographic responsible for 98% of gang grooming underage girls for sex that he is determined to deal with it.

The Rochdale case last year sent the first lot down. Since then there have been two other convictions one on Oxford the other in Shropshire, so other areas are following suit.

Another 58+ gangs are under investigation and will come before the courts in due course.

You may have seen the chap on TV News this last week where he did interviews regarding the conviction of Cregan the police killer.

For far too long they danced around the race issue and left these animals alone to continue to commit these awful crimes.

Lets now hope that this action has empowered local councils to act and not to be afraid of the 'race card' being played against them.
