I saw Hawkwind at Brunel University Sports Hall in about 1976. Bloody hell, I had never heard a louder band in my life. I hope in their old age that the guys have quietened down just a few decibels (assuming they can hear at all!!).
I also recall as we left the hall, quite literally stepping over a couple who were frantically making love in the middle of the venue, seemingly oblivious and surrounded by hundreds of Hawkwind fans. The girl looked particularly attractive (not) as she'd been laying on a carpet of dozens of crunched up plastic beer 'glasses' and now also had a half a discarded dozen dog ends stuck to her uncovered backside - One classy bird!!
Let's hope that Grosvenor Vale Ruislip know what's coming !!!!
