So sad to hear the death of Chas Hodges (Chas and Dave) today, one of his early bands was Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers I used to watch them practice at Hayes Footballs club every Wednesday, He replaced Frank Allen from Hayes who went on to and still plays with the Searchers I expect a lot of boys and girls from the Sixties have seen him at Burtons in Uxbridge, Chas and Daves drummer also played in the Rebel Rousers sadly he passed away a couple of years ago RIP Chas |

It's amazing how many Hayes connections there were to well known groups and performers. |

I remember Cliff Bennett & the Rebel Rousers from my Burton Uxbridge days! Also, Brian Poole & the Tremeloes, and Tony Rivers & the Castaways. It wasn't easy getting back from Uxbridge to Chalfont St Peter in those days. |
