What's happen to The Industry Pub in Yeading Lane, had first official Drink at the famous landmark in Yeading & unofficial drink. Way before that was place would buy our penny dog biscuits after cubs at 7th Hayes ( which I hear are no longer) at the Wooded Church Hall other side road, now see church runs a what food bank.

Next someone is going to tell me the Yeading School has got rid of the Bomb Shelters we used to slid down.

What other changers will I see next on my travels around the local area

The bomb shelters in the Moats have been leveled according to Google Earth. You can take an Asian out of Asia, but you can't take Asia out of an Asian, Enoch knew it nobody else did.

It was closed years ago after a drugs raid. With pubs closing rapidly allegedly due to breweries extortionate rents it must be very difficult to open or refurbish new ones and make a profit. Especially with supermarket beer prices.

The behaviour of breweries is weird. Someone with experience of this was telling me once if a landlord is making a profit, they put up the rent until he isn't!! Then, when he finds a way to bring in extra punters and make a bit of profit, they put the rent up again.

Prince of Wales now closed (top of Harlington Road), as well as the Prince Albert just demolished. Did I hear that the Brushwood (Turks) will be next??

Seems that places only have a chance of survival if they are town centre places or serve food these days...

I think the plan here is to sell the land the pub,s are on for building flats,big easy money there and sell the booze to shops and supermarkets instead.
the brewers still have an outlet without the overheads of a pub....job done !.

A lot of the closing or closed pubs in this neck of the woods are no loss, places like the Kings Arms, Tumbler, Victoria and Blue Anchor were magnets for scum. Pubs reflect the places they're in.

I agree, they are mainly youth gathering points with the agro that comes with inexperience/alcohol abuse.

Last I heard the older type of client had move away from Grapes or what ever fancy name it is now, last time in the grapes had to make a complaint, great big photo of Hayes Town, but they had the wrong Hayes, one in Kent,
Back to Industry I was saying, people had move from Grapes to Industry due type of client, have to say a few years ago, shame to hear it went like most of the drinking holes one used to use in the good old day.

One wonders why a preservation order not put on the Industry or at least a Blue Plaque as birth place of Yeading Football Club.
