Just clicked on an ad for water softeners. I can honestly say I think this is the best advertising video I've ever watched. Non nonsense, no gimmicks, very clear and honest:

We've got hard water in Hillingdon but it certainly doesn't kill soap suds like the demo.

My first impression is that the demo water has been 'doctored'

Hello!

Just chipping in on behalf of the company in question. No, the water hasn't been doctored or anything - the effect is just much more pronounced when you use pure soap.

In fact, that's one of the nice things about softened water. Most soaps and shower gels these days have lots of extra chemicals in them to combat the effects of hard water. When you have a water softener, you can go back to buying pure soap again, which tends to be much kinder to your skin and hair. Plus, you don't need to use as much, so you save money.
