I'm in a four bedroom detached house on a fixed price until 2014.I have insulated walls and roof area.I'm with Scottish Power,I pay between £108/£116
per month, this is for gas and electricity also boiler service once a year and breakdown cover which I have used last year and cost me nothing.
I'm running two fridge/freezers,washing and drier.Seems to me you need to have your meter checked, perhaps you are growing something special
in the greenhouse. :o

I just can't understand this. Friends of mine in a one bed terrace house have just had their combined quarterly bill and it's over £600.

Further to my electric bill, I have today had my new meter checked it was found to be registering units with everything turned off. They have changed the meter it will be interesting to see how much rebate I get and how long it takes to get it :?:

Great news! The amount they were charging you seemed way over the top so I hope you get a lot of it back.

:D

That is seriously scary. They should refund 100% of everything you paid since that meter was installed.

The tax man thinks we get 10% interest on our money

It is scarey that the electric company fit a meter that doesn't work properly and charge you appropriately.

Our meter failed a couple of years ago and we had to have a new one installed. Southern Electric tried to tell me I owed them over £100 extra for that period and after a few emails and phone conversations agreed to change it to £100 credit in our favour. (that's a difference of £200)

You should aim to pay a similar amount to what you paid a year ago.
