There is an amazing model of a very big, tall Christmas Tree in Wycombe Eden shopping centre. It is a light show activated by a piece of joyful classical music. It is completely covered in coloured lights. Then the designs of the lights change as the music plays. It is fabulous. I thought of the comparison on this recording of a Christmas Reading I was rehearsing in Hayes (a long time ago) for a Christmas concert. The description in the reading was of Christmas lights as they had been in Southport when Sir Compton McKenzie was a child. The concert of carols and readings was to be held at Cranford Park School.
