I watched a part of this film being made opposite West Drayton station ,my sister and brother in law worked at Pinewood studios and took me to see it being filmed, a lot of it was made on the Uxbridge road going past RAF Uxbridge and the tube station when the road was being relaid,I think they were also taking all the trolley bus overhead cables down.
This film is well worth watching if only to see how many places you can recall only if you are over a certain age of course ?

I was very young but I do just remember as I was often taken to the Peoples cafe. I think we saw the ice cream eating scene on the steps of the De Burgh Arms.

You memory is absolutely right, and in the road directly opposite where it shows another scene outside a wooden hut that was a cafe

That cafe is still there
