http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/cr ... 46382.html What a stupid woman. Sometimes in life, it's worth taking a stand, but this perhaps wasn't it. This senior Police Officer within the Met's counter terrorism team, contacted the News of the World to leak confidential information about how that team were being resourced. The NoW didn't take the bait as they thought it was a trap. But other PC's later found her phone number when they were investigating the Milly Dowler hacking story. I wonder if her trusted role within the terrorism unit (which must mean she deals with top secret information) will be her undoing?? |

Not a stupid mistake, an attempt to make money off the back of a public position of trust. Corruption in the Met was rife in the 50's, 60's and 70's........ Has anything really changed? This woman has just been offered up as a scapegoat. Pretty much in the same way that 75%+ of MP's were fiddling their expenses yet less than a handful were hauled before the courts. The public will be appeased when this lady is sent down for a few Months and think the problems have been solved and the corrupt officers dealt with. Nothing could be farther from the truth. |
