A garlic smuggler (?) who defrauds HMRC gets a longer sentence than a rapist who may well of wrecked a young life and that of her family. OK, I don't know any details of either cases but come on, what message are the courts sending here?

Its not always the biggest and the bestest, its them that make the least mistakes.

You steal money the sentence is tougher, always been the same. This country lost the plot years ago.

Judges are bound by the law of the land and sentencing guidelines laid down in legislation.

Those in the big house are always more vindictive when it comes to 'withholding' money from HMRC which is usually spent on the grand plans they have in mind. End of the day it is just a numbers game, they have to wield the big stick to make sure not to many people try it.

Murder or rape = no financial loss to the exchequer, indeed the opposite is true when they have to lock them up..

Has always been the same going back hundreds of years when monarchs needed to raise funds to wage war.

Here is something funny about HMRC

HM Revenue Collectors has sent back a Tax Return to a man in Evesham
after he apparently answered one of the questions incorrectly.

The Man wrote: In response to the question ‘Do you have anyone
dependent on you?’ he answered


"2.1 million illegal immigrants, 1.1 million crackheads, 4.4 million
unemployable Jeremy Kyle scroungers, 90,000 criminals in over 85
prisons, plus 649 self serving lying ponces in our Parliament, and the
entire European Commission".

The HMRC wrote back to him stating that the response he gave was
unacceptable.

The man's response back to HMRC was "Who did I miss out?"

I see the 2011 census has revealed that London is now only 47% 'white british'
