i've done lots of house moves in hillingdon/hounslow and it never ceases to amaze me how many tenants landlords can cram into one building.two such unscrupulous landlord was fined approx £5000 and £15,000 for renting out buildings in their garden but how much do these guys earn? one room i moved people out from had four beds in.two of which had people sleeping in as i helped a couple move out.there were 4 rooms each charging £600+ per month.thats over £25,000+ per year.landlords seem to be the same nationality as tenants who speak little english. |

Hefty fine, plus building demolished should be the minimum. If caught a second time the fine doubles, etc |

The council and central government have been turning a blind eye to the 'beds in sheds' issue for years. Bottom line is they both oversee a failed housing policy where insufficient housing is being built which brings about this sort of behaviour. Where there is a demand there will always be a market no matter how squalid it is. That said they should punish these slumlords and heavily.. There should also be some sort of procedure which allows them back claim on the unpaid council tax for these slums payable by the property owner. Back date it 10 years for example. Gives me an opportunity to get out the Daily Mail overhead picture again of urban Southall..... This is one street, multiply this across the whole boro....

rexy wrote: Failure of immigration control. If only it were a 'failure', the 'problem' would have been corrected long ago, but open borders has been political policy for a long time. Andrew Neather, a former adviser to Tony Blair, has confessed to this policy.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... viser.html Quote: The huge increases in migrants over the last decade were partly due to a politically motivated attempt by ministers to radically change the country and "rub the Right's nose in diversity", according to Andrew Neather, a former adviser to Tony Blair, Jack Straw and David Blunkett. The Cameron led government is equally guilty for NOT closing the national borders when it came to power. Oh yes, we hear lots of fine words, but never see any action. It's the same with EU membership - lots of talk, and no corrective action.
He said Labour's relaxation of controls was a deliberate plan to "open up the UK to mass migration" but that ministers were nervous and reluctant to discuss such a move publicly for fear it would alienate its "core working class vote". |

Mass immigration is deliberate Government policy.. They may say and act otherwise but be in no doubt. To get growth you need extra consumption. The UK population is and has not been breeding at the correct levels for a couple of decades. Therefore to attain the required growth levels they have to import people. All through the 90's and noughties this was fine and they were able to keep the plate of having reasonably sufficient employment available spinning.. Wheels have come right off now though as the Worlds downturn has restricted that growth where they are now having to print the deficit just to stand still. That's what this QE and high (er than expected inflation is all about) The future is not bright, it is also not orange. |

i keep hearing all this "shrinking population" stuff, then housing shortages, not enough dentists and school places so what is it? and why would you import people here ,some of whome may not be into working for a living at the same time you let multinational.s buy up companies and ship the equipment/jobs to China/eastern europe ? |
