So within a few days of being voted in he said that his manifesto pledge of 50,000 new homes wasn't going to happen.

Now he is saying that travelcards and oyster cards will go up annually. This being the result of him not being able to limit fare rises on the national rail element of both cards. Being cashless then travelcards and/or oyster cards are the only way for people to travel so he has a captive fare rise audience.

So that's 2 lies within a month or 2 of being votes in, what next ?

I hope voters remember this fiasco in 4 years.

Fares are already extortionate.

Just shows the backtracking and the lies he told to get in before researching the facts.

He's blaming Boris for the houses and National Rail for the fares, not his fault at all

Sadly, this problem of politicians deliberately lying to the electorate is a deeply rooted characteristic of modern politics, one that especially applies to the Lib Dems, Labour, Conservatives, and the Greens. Which is why politicians are held in such contempt, and turn-outs at the polls tend to be very low.

The political class likes to ascribe public disinterest in party politics to “public apathy”; when the real cause is public scepticism brought about by lying, deceiving and thoroughly dishonest politicians who will say anything, promise anything, in order to get elected to positions of power. Once in position the truth slowly percolates to the surface; a later election results in one or more other parties of liars coming to power. The political system is totally corrupt, a treadmill of political deceit, where all the deceiving parties are actually heading in the same direction of one-world corporatism – and without actually telling us what the political class are doing to us.

The current “referendum debate” is a a perfect example of political lies, scare tactics, and deliberate deception. Cameron, Osborne, Brown, Blair, Major, the Kinnocks, together with their legions of corrupt mouthpieces, wouldn't recognise the truth if it smacked them over the head. Blinded by their personal greed and lust for power, they are incapable of telling the truth. The same problem affects much of local politics, and the whole of officialdom.

All true. Amazing how they just don't care about being found out lying once they're in.
