What is it with mayors? I used to think that Livingstone was bad enough, but Johnson seems to be plumbing new depths.

Motorists face a new speed camera blitz and £100 fines as 20mph limits are imposed on some of Britain’s busiest roads.
Until now, lower speed limits have been restricted to smaller roads in residential areas or near schools. But in a major policy shift, 20mph limits are to be introduced on major arterial roads – and policed by the latest digital speed cameras.
Campaigners say it is the start of a radical new nationwide attempt to slow traffic down.
London Mayor Boris Johnson yesterday revealed that eight pilot schemes will be run on ‘Red Routes’ – the main arterial roads that carry a third of the capital’s traffic.

That's insane. I agree with 20 on small residential roads but nowhere else. We already have artificially low speeds on some sections of A roads and it's very difficult observing them and virtually no one does, not even the police.

20mph is totally unrealistic except near schools - I hear the busy ringing of cash tills!

It's not unique to London, thay are trying to introduce this to many North American city's as well.

If you google it, there are many towns/ citys in the UK, proposing the same thing.

It matters alright. 20 MPH limists monitored by digital cameras (which are increasingly going over to being grey in colour); and the ease with which a 20MPH limit can be exceeded with a modern car in a low gear without constantly watching the speedometer will readily result in a flood of £100 fines and loss of driving licences; and the means to earn a living will often go with the driving licence.

And YES; this anti-private transport policy comes straight our of Agenda 21.

If anybody out there still believes the LibLabCON truly represent us then I strongly suggest they take a close look at everything these people are doing to us.

Didn't the Tories recently promise the war on the motorist was coming to an end?

Hang on a minute isn't Boris a Tory?

Yet another reason not to vote for the lying $hitbags......... Say one thing and mean another

Milliband needs to go on the record and irrevocably rule out any coalition with the SNP. So don't vote for him either... In fact SNP aside Balls is a good reason not to vote Labour.

As for Clegg

Which leaves?
