It appears that plans are being laid for a coalition government of the many shades of grey. A union of the unelected; an opposition-free one-party state of the extreme Left. With 'representatives' drawn from Lib, Lab, Con, SNP, UKIP, Plaid Cymru, Greens, DUP , SDLP , etc. etc. can all combine to destroy what remains of the United Kingdom. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... nment.html Quote: David Cameron has been told that he can stay in Downing Street even if he loses the election while other parties try to piece together a coalition. He will remain Prime Minister until an alternative is found, and ministers who lose their seats could continue to serve in a caretaker government for weeks. Sir Jeremy Heywood, the country's top civil servant, insisted that Mr Cameron must remain in Number 10 until there can be a 'smooth transition' to a new government. Quote: Five years ago the coalition deal was agreed in just five days, but with a hung parliament likely again, it is expected that any power-sharing agreement could take much longer, possibly even several weeks. Who is Sir Jeremy Heywood to insist on anything? - an unelected bureaucrat who obviously wields far too much power behind the scenes. In my view it's time we had political appointees as heads of civil service departments, appointed by the in-coming government so that government policies can be implemented instead of career civil servants who want the easy life and are content to prevaricate and delay change. |

Perhaps a more pertinent question should be. Would the electorate rather see a Tory/Labour coalition and an agreement thrashed out rather than a Labour/SNP one? The former may be the only way to ensure the United Kingdom stays together.. We all have our favourite shades of Government and see coalition as a necessary evil but some colations are better than others. |

I don't trust them on that either. Look how much devolution has been foisted on us already even though Scotland voted NO. |

I suspect that UK Column News won't meet with the approval of everybody. However, the broadcast for Friday the 13th of March 2015 contains some very interesting reports regarding Scottish politics and the far reaches it has across the whole of the UK, and even the whole world. The broadcast can be found here http://www.ukcolumn.org/ until midday Monday the 16th March 2015. If what UK Column are reporting in the above broadcast concerning Scottish politics is anywhere near accurate, and I believe it is accurate, then the fact that any major national political party is even reportedly considering forming a coalition with the SNP, it ought to cause us all a great deal of concern. The broadcast lasts about an hour; with the several reports from David Scott in Scotland, especially the last lengthy third of the news broadcast, being of special interest. |

I can't connect to it at the moment. What's the thrust of it? |
