So on the morning when Max Clifford is to be sentenced, this story appears in the media which says if he goes down, his business will close and 12 staff with be made redundant.

Is this a 'real' news story, or is Clifford trying to influence the Judge by dropping this regrettable story onto the front pages - after all, media manipulation is what he does (or did). It looks like PR spin to me. In any case, is it true? The guy is a proven liar when it comes to saving his own skin?

Lets hope the Judge is straighter and has more morals than Clifford

From what I've read in the past Judges are not in the real world. Let's see

He won't get much more than 12 Months anyway..

If he would rather throw his business away then get a manager in for the time he is away then that is up to him.

In any event the fact he has an 'ongoing' business is rather moot anyway. He operates in Public Relations and manages it for other people. Hasn't done to well for himself anyway has he. I would venture to say he is 'damaged goods' and that his business in it's current form is not viable now anyway.

I agree. Who would want to hire him for PR after all this?

That might well be the case, but a more than reasonable sentence I reckon

I wonder if that shock news wiped that cocky, arrogant smile off of his smug face - It did the opposite to me :) :)

This morning I predicted 6 to 10 with him being released half way through or perhaps half way through minus one year on tag. The judge has said he must serve at least four, so I wasn't far out.

I have read that he re mortgaged his mansion for £3.5 million shortly before the trial started., which at first glance is curious

Some say he has hid that equity away somewhere secure (not in the UK or EU), and as the bank/building society now 'own' his house, those seeking compensation will have to look elsewhere.

Lets hope that if necessary, the Courts find his cash and share it out to the victims
