Post subject:  BBC's impartial independence?

We are supposed to believe that the BBC is our national independent broadcaster. The BBC even claims that it is politically impartial. The BBC/TVL (Capita) is very aggressive at collecting licence fee money, even from non-customers of the BBC.

Is the BBC politically impartial? Is the BBC truly our national independent broadcaster? For the answers to both questions read what Richard North of EuReferendum.com has to say.
“BBC: EU Grants – The £20 million Sting”
http://eureferendum.com/blogview.aspx?b ... qus_thread

Richard North of the EUReferendum.com reveals that some large sums of money have been passing from the EU to the BBC.
According to an FOI request from the Spectator, the BBC confesses to receiving £3 million from the EU over a 32 month period, between April 2011 and November 2013. However, Richard North has identified that the BBC actually received £20,152,022 from the EU between 2007-2012 inclusive.

What is the BBC doing with this money? It appears that one of the EU funded activities of our impartial and independent BBC, is to provide support for EU integration:
Quote:
For 2009, the BBC World Service Trust gets a total of €3,498,043, including €1,165,960 to provide support for media capacity in the area of EU Integration and €598,583 to strengthening radio stations in Somalia to promote human rights, peace and governance. We also get such gems such as, "Shaping the future of the Turkmen media in the post-Niyazov thaw”, two years of work budgeted at €1,200,000.
For other EU funded dubious activities of the BBC, read Richard North's full article.

This last paragraph from Richard North poses a very serious question:
Quote:
The state broadcaster's reticence to disclose the real amounts it is getting from our supreme government thus tells a worrying story. And if it is concealing the truth about its income from the EU, what else is it hiding?

Not sure about current tense, I'd say it has been a left-wing EU propaganda machine for years, that plus its unequivocal support for "climate change" (once known as Global Warmimg), and the EU.
It should be slimmed down and privatised, its become uncontrollable and to all extents and purposes unaccountable. I resent supporting it with my TV licence tax.
