Seems the Labour Government around 2004/2005 tried to force a bill through pass an 'amnesty' on NI terrorists that were deemed 'on the runs'.

The Tory opposition told them to FO. So they went down the back door route and hoped no one would notice. Sending letters to all and sundry who were suspected of murders both on the mainland and in NI that they would not be prosecuted.

How many murderers are there walking free with Labour Government sanctioned 'get out of jail free cards in their jeans pocket?

Peter Hain what an utter toilet stain?

http://www.channel4.com/news/peter-hain ... nd-amnesty

Peter Hain has just told Channel 4 news, when asked about the feelings of those hoping for justice, that one could say the same about those families wanting justice because had relatives killed by British soldiers.

Downey (The suspected Hyde Park Bomber) is also suspected of the horrendous Enniskiliin Remembrance day bombing which killed twelve. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remembrance_Day_bombing
The Hyde Park event http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyde_Park_ ... k_bombings

So Downey is suspected of acts which killed 24 people! That more than Fred West or Sutcliffe and he has been allowed to walk free. The greatest ever number of murders committed in these Islands and he is allowed to walk free?

It is well known that if you come from Northern Ireland then you are automatically a victim of state crime. This victim-hood is graded by a victim-ometer based upon how much whinging you do and also whether you are Terrorist Republican or plain Joe Public the former being eligible for special privileges.

Take the act of child molestation for example; in the rest of the UK or indeed the civilised world, people are hounded decades after the alleged deeds. Look at the recent Freddie Starr Jimmy Saville ITV Actors events, DJ's Rolf Harris et al.. They are still under investigation yet in NI Republican circles it was the norm for men to have sexual relationships albeit clandestinely with children (Gerry Adams Brother known about by the police for decades + others) , in many cases their own. Only in exceptional circumstances were these ever brought to public attention.

At what point does Blair's shameful actions in all this become 'Misconduct in a public office'?

Politicians often speak about "openess", transparency" and "honesty", it's a pity they don't practise it.

Well Livingstone of course invited the IRA to tea at County Hall (was it on the day of Charles and Di's wedding or something?) so no surprise there. I think in many ways Blair & Co were actually far more left-wing than those who are openly left wing.

Britain isn't exactly whiter than white when it comes to NI, which will stay in limbo for the foreseeable future as violence from both sides has been reduced to a manageable level, dissident Republican's are hugely infiltrated and watched like hawks by the Garda / PSNI / UK, the ceasefires post 94 and subsequent agreements have probably saved 500 or more lives even if outcomes like these are a bitter pill to swallow.

This whole thing stinks of cowardice and probably one condition to stop the cowards planting bombs in the UK.

I've never understood the mentality of people who plant bombs to maim and kill random people. They must be sick.

“Misconduct in public office”? Blair, Brown, Major, Cameron, Clegg, and many others, should all be dragged before the courts and tried for high treason for what they have done to this nation.

Geezer, Comparing the 14 year sentence awarded to Sergeant Alexander Blackman with the freedom of an IRA terrorist suspected of four murders really does highlight the injustice extended towards serving members of the Armed Forces.

I understand that the UK military came very close to carrying out a coup when Labour's Wilson/Callaghan were in power. I really do wonder how much more political abuse the Armed Forces will endure before they take overt action.

So suspected criminals and terrorists get a 'letter in the post' telling them they were off the hook. Was it sent by registered post ? I have had more threatening letters from the tv licensing people alledging a crime I haven't committed.

Whatever the crime, and whenever it was committed there should be no hiding place for the accused. They should face a court of law and be judged by a jury. I naively thought that was the whole basis of our justice system.

I am ashamed to admit I cheered Blairs arrival at No 10 back in 1997. I will always remember him now as a failed war criminal, but a massively rich one.
