Why do they do it ? I'll bet they tracked them on CCTV, that's the usual.

I totally agree. If there was a proper deterrent these youth would think twice.

If capital punishment acted as a true crime preventative measure, how come there are so many murders in places where the murderer can face the death penalty? For instance, just in the city of Houston, Texas (where capital punishment is still legal) there were a total of 217 murders during 2012 (with a population of 2.1 million)

This compares with 99 in London over the same period with a population of 8,308,369. If London had the same crime rate pro rata to the population, there would be around 860 murders pa

I accept that with the guns issue in the US, its not as easy to compare London with Houston, but it is clear that the threat of capital punishment simply does not work as a deterrent
