Energy 'volcano to erupt' with 10 per cent price hikes Energyhelpline said the "volcano is about to erupt", claiming Britain's "Big Six" were all poised to up bills within the coming months. Scottish & Southern Energy sparked a series of price hikes last year by announcing a rise on August 22. Energyhelpline spokesman Mark Todd said: "There are clear indications that energy price rises are close. "I would not be surprised if they are announced within the next two months. In fact you could describe the energy market as a volcano about to erupt. The lava may soon descend on consumers across the country, wiping out their household budgets." A rise of 5-10 per cent would add between £70 to £140- onto the average dual-fuel bill across the country, and trigger another fierce political row. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/pers ... hikes.html |

Kremmen, your link didn't work for me so I've repreated it here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/pers ... hikes.html Quote: Labour yesterday claimed total profits at the Big Six energy companies had soared 73 per cent to £3.7 billion in just three years, while bills have gone up by £300 to an average of £1,420. Labour energy spokesman Caroline Flint said the PM was "totally out of touch" with the millions struggling to pay bills. The sheer hypocrisy from all involved is outrageous. Look at that quote above; every one of the parasites involved are each publicly trying to blame the others. When the truth is, the politicians of the LibLabCon, the energy companies, and the bankers are all in this scam together. Behind the scenes there are the corrupt bankers trying desperately to remain invisible while artificially raising the prices of essential commodities such as oil, gas, food, etc. Tories counter that Ed Miliband introduced the range of "green levies" now forcing up household bills when the Labour leader was energy secretary. The Big Six energy companies have hinted that bills are only going to increase as they are forced to pass on yet more climate change costs. Miliband, Clegg, and Cameron are all committed to the fiction of man-made climate change; all three of them and their parties are more than happy to impose economy destroying price increases through green taxes for energy and fuel. And the energy bosses are more than happy to oblige with pricing energy out of the reach of ordinary folk, and making themselves incredibly rich in the process. Energy bosses, bankers, and the political elite form a cartel of fascists determined to reduce the lives of the 'lower classes' to the status of slaves to the New World Order. I suspect the cartel of parasitical fascists are hoping that the pain they are deliberately inflicting on the ordinary masses will soon result in open rebellion on the streets. Then the 'forces of law and order' will have the excuse they are hoping for to use force to put down the rebellion and steal whatever assets we have left. |

Those profits are a bit obscene particularly when they are looking to inflate their charges.... Seems to me there is a bit of a blame game going on here with the consumer screwed from both angles..... Quote: The Big Six energy companies have hinted that bills are only going to increase as they are forced to pass on yet more climate change costs. Half the scientific community still deny we have a climate change problem whilst the other half of course do. Most sections of the established media take the science as settled, done and dusted. The consumer sits in the middle whilst the Government extracts taxes in the name of so called levies to pass on to their mates making windmills to put out at sea. Many ministers and ex ministers from all sides of the House have their financial fingers in this particular pie in one form or another. Inflation is running far and above the stated figure. Wages are not increasing on the same scale. The big squeeze and drive to reduce the UK serf's living standards are on. Only this week Carney stated that ZIRP was here to stay for the medium term. This statement alone from the head of one of the most important central banks in the World will serve to increase inflation. We are moving to an era where energy is going to become simply unaffordable. Direct Action and widespread refusal to pay bills will become more of a norm than it is today. |

This is all SO OUTRAGEOUS. The world is awash with energy supplies of every kind, there is no excuse for any of this. |

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/news ... esses.html Quote: Figures from Utilyx, the energy consultants and traders, forecast a 58pc rise in the cost of power by 2020, largely driven by the impending avalanche of green taxes due to come into force over the next 10 years. The consultants estimate that 18pc of the current electricity price relates to climate change policies – or £15 per megawatt-hour out of a £82 per megawatt-hour average. However, green taxes and new infrastructure costs will constitute 38pc of the charges, or £50 per megawatt-hour out of £130 per mega-watt hour, by 2020. Assuming the above figures are correct, £18 of every £100 of current electricity bills are due to green taxes that are imposed by government and the EU. Then there is VAT at 5% on top of the whole. So at current prices it is very likely that for every £100 on our electricity bill about 23% of the price is due to government tax. If we project forward to 2020 then we are to expect a rise in prices of 58% on current prices due to green taxes alone, that is without any rise in fuel prices, increased profit margins, and so-called infrastructure investment charges. With only green tax price increases, a £100 bill at today's prices, in 2020 will be £158. Before VAT at 5% is added the price will be £150. Where about £68 of the price will be made up of green taxes. Which approximately equates to £45 of green taxes for every £100 electricity bill; then you add the 5% VAT, which means that half the 2020 electricity bill will consist of tax. All that is without any price increase for fuel, investment charges, and profit margin increases. The future looks horrendous for energy prices, and the whole of the UK economy. These insane and treasonable politically inspired green taxes are not only inflicting misery on the private lives of ordinary people, they will destroy any hopes of the UK economy ever improving. |

And no doubt we pay VAT on the "green" taxes? Marx and Lenin must be leaping in their graves. |
