OK, I'll agree definitely that Charville Lane needed something somewhere along it to stop the iditiots who bomb down at break-kneck speed (including sometimes mums with kids they've picked up from school.)

But the number of new traffic calming "tables" they've installed is way, way, way over the top. It's going to cause years of misery for thousands of people constantly being bumped about as they go over them, especially in buses which bump up and down a lot more than cars.

Why couldn't they just be reasonable and sensible about it?

I agree, you just need a few but they go completely overboard and render the road unusable.

This is the same old Hegelian Dialect technique. First, 'they' sit back and allow a problem to develop, such as unpunished dangerous driving and speeding. Second, the public recognises the 'problem' and calls for the law to be enforced by expecting the guilty to be pursued and punished; which doesn't happen. Third, the 'authorities apply their original plan of punishing the whole of society by applying the one-size-fits-all approach of a blanket application of the UN's Agenda 21 in order to take ever-more control of our increasingly centrally controlled lives.

Does anybody recall ever being democratically asked whether they want road humps, chicanes, bus lanes, speed cameras, ANPR cameras, multi-coloured painted roads, spy-camera cars, constantly varying yo-yo (30-40-30-50-40-20-30) type speed limits on the same stretch of road, an army of privatised profit-making enforcers, and the rest of the UN's anti-social Agenda 21 paraphernalia? I don't.
