For luxury penthouse flats to be sold to the Arabs. Prime land in London is no longer to be lived on by the serfs.....

London council estates cleared for developers

The scandal of social housing areas being evicted and cleared by councils to make room for double-density developer schemes with little or no social rented content.

Social (and ethnic) cleansing is alive and well and operating in a Country near you.

If you take into account that no a single planning application appeal heard by this Mayor has ever been lost by the developers, is hell bend on Boris Island, sorry, now the Ilse of Grain Airport and his eagerness to include a hidden gerrymandering policy within his housing planning strategy, it's clear Boris is well and truly in bed with the developers to the detriment of voters and has to go before he damages London any more.

Even if he doesn't make it to PM in the next few years, it's clear he will have a role on the board of Barratts, Berkely Homes, Abell & Cleland or some other builder who is doing very well in London

Talking of expensive developments that are unaffordable to most of us:
I walked past this development the other day not far from the Tate Britain. £2.22 million for a 2 bedroom flat. Near two and a quarter million pounds? - That's going to be one huge flat isn't it?

Er, no........ have a look at the plan and the pretty average room sizes (about the same living space as a 3 bed 1930s house), note the open plan kitchen/living room and consider that there will be huge monthly service fees on top of this £2m

Boris has got Shirley Porter written all over him...... He has to go.........

Sorry to have to say it but as far as looking out for the interests of Ordinary Londoners Livingstone did a far better job....

Theresa May would be my favourite as the next leader of the Tories. I get the impression she does not suffer fools easily unlike the muppet currently in post........

Ken Livingstone was reviled by many, and certainly had his faults ( who doesn't ? ) but I agree, overall he was genuinely looking out for the interests of Ordinary Londoners. Boris Johnson is a different kettle of fish altogether.

He seems to revel in living up to the role of 'harmless buffoon'...he is anything but harmless in my opinion. It's all about him, hence 'Boris Bikes', 'Boris Buses', 'Boris Island' etc. Now that he has announced his plans to bulldoze Heathrow and somehow miraculously turn it into a new city of some 250,000 people he has made his intentions clear. Do away with ordinary Londoners, and hand everything on a plate to rich Arab and Chinese investors lock stock and two smoking barrels.

Shirley Porter set the tone in the 1980's, Johnson is carrying on the tradition some 27 years later. The 'gentrification and cleansing' of London is clearly the aim, and it's gathering pace under this current corrupt bunch of politicians.

The lid is being firmly tightened on this pressure cooker, to the point where even thinking about protesting is seen as a threat to the state, and will be clamped down upon in no uncertain terms. It says a lot when even this seemingly harmless and generally well behaved bunch are kettled and treated like criminals.

Dare to protest or object at your peril. The all seeing eye of the state is watching you.

If folk vote for who they think has their interests at heart, need a sanity check, the name of the game always has and always will be, wots in it for me, if I stand for election, to be an elected politician for any party, is a total waste of resources, he has no final say as to what goes on, most things that happen are pre ordained, ever tried objecting to anything and won the day??? democracy England style the biggest con ever, then its your fault if it goes wrong, far better a board of directors who are paid by results, that can be discharged when they get it wrong, even a bonus when they get it right, the House of Lords would act as the MD and decide do they stay or do they get replaced, acting like any board of directors, then it all down to the selection of who can, be a Lord, and decide who will be top dog, anything rather than multiplicity of mega nationalities masquerading as Anglo Saxon birth righted to govern the natives, return England to its rightful owners.

Livingstone fleeced motorists and intentionally created congestion. Maybe BJ thinks central London will be improved by getting rid of poor quality crime ridden ghettos?

Bit of a sweeping statement. Are you inferring all council estates are poor quality crime ridden ghetto's?

Livingstone for all his other faults needed to do something to address the levels of traffic coming into central London and the resultant pollution that caused. It gave a lot of people the excuse they needed to use the public transport system.

The idea couldn't have been that bad as Boris has never over turned it has he?

Didn't Boris scrap the western extension that encompassed Chelsea ?

Yes he did.

And Livingstone con zone does nothing to reduce traffic. The queues on the main arteries in and out of London were just the same the day after the con charge zone came into effect. Central London was not particularly congested anyway. With so many roads criss-crossing each other, you got jams at certain junctions and you still do! The only effect of charging is that hard-pressed Londoners have to fork out a lot of extra money to use roads they've already paid for.

To a degree road congestion is self policing. If it gets that bad drivers will try to avoid it.

All those drivers stationary on the M25 anti-clockwise from 16:00 from J 15 to 12 aren't there for the fun of it, they are there because they have to be. I'm sure if the majority could avoid it they would.
