Post subject:  Accident involving a child Kingshill Ave this afternoon 15/7

Does anyone know anything about a child being struck by a vehicle in Kingshill Ave (near Yeading Lane) this afternoon.

Although thankfully he didn't witness the incident (due to a bus in the way) my son was three or four vehicles behind having a driving lesson and suggests the child is very poorly. My son is a bit shaken up and said that the Air Ambulance landed, but he has no knowledge whether the child has pulled through

Any idea??

Boy, 3, dies after Kingshill Avenue collision
Jul 15 2013 By Jack Griffith
A THREE-year-old boy has died in a road accident in the Yeading area.

The collision, involving the child and a flatbed recovery truck, happened in Kingshill Avenue, Northolt, at around 12.20pm this afternoon (Monday, July 15).

The air ambulance attended and the boy was taken to a west London hospital, but he later died from his injuries. His family have been informed, and a post mortem is due.

Police now want witnesses to the accident to come forward. No arrests have been made, and the Road Death Investigation Unit at Northolt is investigating.

A tragic accident it seems :( I don't think the family should already be saying things like 'the driver was going over the 30 mph limit' and trying to lay blame !! That driver must feel awful and if the father didn't see his son run out then he clearly didn't see what happened beforehand. The mother was inside and didn't see anything until she heard shouting . All they are doing is making the driver feel worse. They need to grieve and let Police work out the details !! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... -hand.html

The police as part of their investigation will determine if the truck was speeding or not.

Typical though of the blame culture today how these parents try and divert it without examining their own actions.

Kingshill avenue is a very busy road. It would have been so easy to leave the toddler indoors whilst the car seat was fitted.

All sympathy to the parents for their loss and it is easy with hindsight to criticise but how many here would hold their hands up and honestly say they would have made the same fundamental error?

I don't want to be hard on the parents but I see this as nothing other than a parenting mistake.

I don't mind saying, what others maybe thinking.
With the unfortunate one's father being a cab driver and saying " everybody speeds in this area". Thats a bit like calling the kettle black. I'm sure it would be a fair bet to say. In his working day, he doesn't keep to the speed limit very often. :(
