I was told that they had to give the house owners 48 hours notice that they were going to inspect the sheds. In that 48 hours everything would be taken out and the shed looking like a shed again

Southall comes under London Borough of Ealing - nothing to do with Hillingdon

Crazy isn't it !!!

They should just raid the place and deport any illegals immediately, passport or not, go home

I agree. A surprise visit would give better results. That's the law apparently

Councillor Keith Burrows, cabinet member for planning, said: “This raid sends a clear message that we are determined to crackdown on unscrupulous landlords who rent out illegal and unsafe accommodation.”

Funniest line I have read for ages.

They could put every single person working for the council onto the problem for 6 Months and it would still be a problem.

They need to whack these landlords with some serious fines (£50,000+) before it will become a real deterrent in the area. These people know these is some serious wonga to be made.

In total agreement geezer466. This nonsense has been going on for years, but I think we all know why it hasn't been dealt with by the full force of the law ??

'This raid sends out a clear message'.....Thats just beyond pathetic Cllr Burrows.Who suddenly woke you out of your slumber ?? I wonder what his salary is as a Cabinet member for planning ??
