The last Prime Minister driven by conviction rather than focus groups.

I dread to think what 3rd world economic basket case we'd be living in now if she hadn't faced the Unions down in the 80's.

Only gripe I have with her was her relaxing the rules and de-regulated lending, a policy partly to blame the economic ills of today.

Still there will sadly be plenty of this the next few days from the hypocrites of the 'PC', self-hating , hand-wringing left. Shame they weren't so bothered when Liebour started it's trumped up war in Iraq leading to the death of so many, bankrupted our economy and decided to conveniently lose control of our borders.

I have some very mixed opinions about Margaret Thatcher and her tenure as Prime Minister but I do respect her place in our history. R.I.P.

Interesting point of view seemingly confirmed by a Labour Government advisor that the Left contrived once they got into power to ensure no one like Thatcher could ever be elected again.

Quote:
Margaret Thatcher couldn’t be elected today. It’s not just that she was a great woman and such people don’t come along every day. Rather, the British Left made sure of it by altering the electorate through mass immigration.

This isn’t conspiracy mongering. Andrew Neather, a former Labour-party speechwriter, admitted in 2009 that the immigration boom engineered after 2000 was specifically intended to import a new people:

The huge increases in migrants over the last decade were partly due to a politically motivated attempt by ministers to radically change the country and “rub the Right’s nose in diversity”, according to Andrew Neather, a former adviser to Tony Blair, Jack Straw and David Blunkett.

He said Labour’s relaxation of controls was a deliberate plan to “open up the UK to mass migration” but that ministers were nervous and reluctant to discuss such a move publicly for fear it would alienate its “core working class vote”.

As a result, the public argument for immigration concentrated instead on the economic benefits and need for more migrants.

Peter Hitchens, Christopher’s smarter brother, wrote a devastating piece recently on the reason for the Left’s promotion of immigration:

When I was a Revolutionary Marxist, we were all in favour of as much immigration as possible.

It wasn’t because we liked immigrants, but because we didn’t like Britain. We saw immigrants — from anywhere — as allies against the staid, settled, conservative society that our country still was at the end of the Sixties.

Also, we liked to feel oh, so superior to the bewildered people – usually in the poorest parts of Britain – who found their neighbourhoods suddenly transformed into supposedly ‘vibrant communities’.

If they dared to express the mildest objections, we called them bigots.

Yes RIP she can do no more damage now
I feel sorrow for her family , and the thousands she confined to the scrap heap
With her me me me , mentality , I believe she went quite mad in her last two years in te job
Whatever your views , her friends should have told her to stand down earlier , but I don't think she listened to anyone .and in te end she was alone

Mrs Thatcher had two major problems during her time in government.

1) The Conservative Party and her government contained far too many wets who were not, and are still not, true Conservatives.

2) Mrs Thatcher woke up far too late too the real threat from the EU and the globalists, a failure that was assisted by the non-Conservative wets in her own cabinet and party – the same people who engineered her downfall.

Any British Prime Minister who attracts so much open hatred from the Left as Mrs Thatcher did, and still does, must have been doing a great deal that was correct.

The current level of Satanic bile being openly expressed by the Left towards Mrs Thatcher should serve as a severe warning to any of us who fundamentally disagree with their liberal/Leftist politics. It should also serve as a warning to those who do support liberal/Leftist politics; because these open displays of hatred are a real revelation of the true nature that drives these people, and of the hatred they reserve for ANYBODY who dares to disagree with them, however small the disagreement – at some time in the outworking of their political agenda the time will come for them to destroy their own 'useless idiots'. Such hatred as these people hold knows no tolerance – and even less mercy.

I am thankful for the good that Mrs Thatcher achieved by standing up to the Left. Sadly, she was undone by those who falsely portrayed themselves as Conservatives – and continue to falsely present themselves to this day.

Agreed

This country needs another Thatcher to save us from these people. I know where my vote is going next time round and it won't be Lab or Tory.

Neither will mine be going to any who represent the LibLabCon Party. Any apparent difference (and that difference gets less easy to see by the day) in the public façade presented by these politicians is a charade intended to fool traditional party loyalists.
