Hats off to Mike Oldfield for doing it for a £1.00
Wonder if Branagh and the other big names not mentioned did it for similar fees?

End of the day there is no show like it on earth. Many big names will pay to be allowed to perform...

I would be interested to see if Beckham was paid anything and the established Olympians involved in the lighting ceremony such as Redgrave, Kelly Holmes etc..

Clearly some of them are on a good screw for the next two weeks anyway courtesy of the BBC commentary work.
