In my case you are talking a full floor to ceiling warm air unit including the cabinet, all workings and a circulatory hot water system.
I can understand your concern if it was just one of those jobs that hangs on the wall.

Exactly right - in the case of BG the engineers are like a Jack of all trades but master of none !! They get minimum training on various makes of boiler and obviously they are up to date on current regs, but give them a difficult problem or an uncommon appliance and they're out of their depth ! Its far better to take out a contract with the manufacturer - works out cheaper and they arrive with a van load of spares for that make of boiler - majority are fixed on the first visit . BG are really only any good for landlords who have to have a cheap basic contract to satisfy a letting agent etc.
