Be under no illusion. Yewtree is a diversion in the wake of the Saville revelations. Many a politico 'was at it' some of which have now progressed to quite senior positions. Allegations surfacing now the leadership of the Liberals knew all about Cyril Smith and kept stum, some even suggesting there was a giant cover up to stop it coming out.

Far easier to point the finger of suspicion at entertainment types rather than have eyes looking into areas where they don't want them. The CPS probably breathed a huge sigh of relief when the verdicts came in but Clifford is probably the exception which makes the rule. Clifford was arrogant (as always) and clearly this has wound the judge up and reflected in sentencing.

As far as I can recall Rolf Harris is the only one pending awaiting trial except for the case they will have another go at hanging DLT with. They arrested a 73 year old (well known name in N London last Month but can't be identified for legal reasons) but no charges as yet on that one.

Hell if Saville's cases had come to court who is to suggest there would have been guilty verdicts? They had Saville in at least twice and on one of those times he came voluntarily and co-operated fully with the investigation into him, second time he was interviews under caution but the evidence was not there to pursue the case. Of the accusers we know of now he is dead I have read reports of at least one of them having a previous conviction for fraud and another running to SA when the police started asking awkward questions as to the validity of her allegations.

The press campaign against the celebs is largely a blind to divert attention from where it should be....
