The Big Issue scam.............

As a Romanian immigrant living in the UK, Big Issue seller Firuta Vasile already qualified for more than £25,500 a year in benefits.
But one state handout she wasn’t entitled to was housing benefit. Until now.
Yesterday the 27-year-old mother of four was celebrating having won the extra payout – worth at least £2,600 a year – after her local council was over-ruled by a judge.
Miss Vasile, whose marital status is unknown, said the benefits money would help her pay rent on her £130,000 three-bedroomed home, while she continues to earn around £100 a week selling copies of the homelessness magazine.
EU and current A2 status (Romania and Bulgaria) can enter the UK but are not entitled (at this current time) to draw benefits until they are in work and paying NI and if wage levels permit PAYE.
One way round this is to declare self employment and go on to sell the Big Issue. These persons are not paid a wage but buy the magazines in and sell for a small profit so under the rules it would qualify and is the view of the judiciary.
Of course in these circumstances working tax credit and child tax credit become payable immediately and are worth many times more than JSA anyway.
Nothing against the Romanians, Poles, Bulgars and all the rest but why do my taxes have to continually rise to fund this?
Lets look at the other negatives of open border policy where the UK is one of the most popular destinations from poorer EU countries.
Pressure on local services. (Schools (the language problems), GP surgeries, the NHS)
Continual Inflation of the Housing bubble. Extra demand is not allowing the housing market to correct.
Rents rising for everyone driven by the same market forces.
Wage levels being driven down by ever availability of cheap unskilled labour.
Ghetto type zones being created in our cities where immigrants are refusing to integrate. (This is mainly Somalians and Sub Continent but Polish communities are now being established (in much the same way Southall developed after the war) in some Midland Towns and Cities.
Additional demand on our road and energy infrastructure.
I bet there are some others people can add to this list.
