and why would you import people here ,some of whome may not be into working for a living at the same time you let multinational.s buy up companies and ship the equipment/jobs to China/eastern europe ?
It's called TREASON! The deliberate and planned destruction of the UK against the wishes of the UK electorate– the very same reason the Libs, Labs, and Cons are all enthusiastic for EU membership.

To get growth you need extra consumption. The UK population is and has not been breeding at the correct levels for a couple of decades. Therefore to attain the required growth levels they have to import people

then if we are self sufficient why do we need growth? and more to the point why do we need to enlarge the population, that is self defeating, the extra production is needed to support the extra inhabitants, the equation don't work out, as more people take from the kitty than put in, Tony knew this, and that they were not going to bite the hand that fed them, so first you create a problem, then put yourself as the saviour, that what gives politics the bad name, and its us the electorate who have to bail out our Country. :o :o

Growth is about a lot of things Jim including allowing the value of property to rise. Do you think London and the SE would have seen the vast property gains it did without the immigration? Of course the very short answer is no....

The flip side of course is many, many people were able to use their property like an ATM withdrawing equity as cash and spending it on new cars, holidays and lot's of other shiny things. This kept most people ignorant of the real issues or motives behind the policy and as long as they had an extra income stream why should they care?

Of course another flipside is a good proportion of the productive work has been exported to China and other parts of the World whilst here immigration has subdued wages to their lowest possible levels. If I was a Richard Branson or Alan Sugar in charge of a multi UK international corporation would I be sad at that? Of course not and to a point it is these people who drive Government policy.

I will tell you what is wrong with this Country it is the sense of entitlement of the younger generation.... Lets take this story which broke yesterday on the BBC and in the press.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/9483268/Young-Tory-MPs-blame-lazy-baby-boomers-for-Britains-economic-decline.html

Quote:
Young Tory MPs blame 'lazy' baby boomers for Britain's economic decline
A group of rising young Conservative MPs claims that 'idle' British workers are damaging the economy by failing to compete with 'grafting' Asian countries.

Chris Skidmore - Professional politician. never done a proper job
http://en.wikipedia..../Chris_Skidmore

Elizabeth Truss - Turncoat from Labour family. Flirted with Liberal Democrats before selling out her class to the Tories. Worked in ' Sales' before becoming a professional politician

http://en.wikipedia....Elizabeth_Truss
Dominic Raab - Oxbridge Educated lawyer with posh firm Linklaters. Given a very safe Tory seat. Destined to become typical House of Commons Lobby fodder living off the taxpayer for decades while holding down a nice legal job on the side.

http://en.wikipedia....ki/Dominic_Raab

Priti Patel - Professional politician, Never Done a proper job

http://en.wikipedia....iki/Priti_Patel

Kwasi Kwarteng - worked in 'financial services the industry that helped blow the debt bubble and has just had to be bailed out by the lazy good for nothing British workers to the tune of billions of pounds.

http://en.wikipedia..../Kwasi_Kwarteng

Usual bunch of pratts who have no idea what it is like to face doing a boring and arduous job for 40 years with little prospect of escape. .

In fact this book is little more than an electoral suicide note as the first rule of politics is to not slag off the voters.....

Truth is the standard of British politicians has been falling for a long time. There are none who will be able to manage the UK out of the hole it has been dropped in. Look at the above non of them have a clue or reasonably productive idea between them.

Blimey Geezer - Have you had a bad day??

I only want to make one point about your post, that is the language you use. I think the 'C' word (even disguised with an *) is a little bit inappropriate for this forum and may offend.

I admire and respect your passion for politics, but come on fella - steady on!

surely then the welfare state was the start of the decline, the something for nothing, attitude of Liebour to invite all and sundry to come and share the welfare that we did not really have, our reputation for producing well made goods, and offering 24 carrot services, was the bait, that was taken, sucked in and spat out, the take, take, take, attitude was a magnet to the unscrupulous, lazy, and chancers, along with a ruling body where number one is the prime benifactor, yet with over two million people unable to find work, the system has failed the british people, and still more and more come and join us, thousand who have never put one penny into the pot, come and take pounds out, for this I and thousands like me will never forgive that spiv Tony Blair, and the something for nothing followers. :o :?

I had a headache when I got up this morning.... Took it out on my keyboard.... Fixed now apologies for any offence.

Sometimes though the direction these people are allowing our country to go in deserves harsh and strong language.

Drat - I missed that.

I heard that the local authority has to give 48 hours notice when visiting the sheds to see if people are living in them. After 48 hours all signs of habitation have been removed.

The law needs changing so that LAs can do spot checks

with the politicos we have any language is too good, they create a problem then its our fault, ok so be it! we don't have to vote for the known crooks, and crooked parties, the Country needs a revolution at the polling stations, my dad always said you vote for one set of crooks, or the other set of crooks, don't be fooled into thinking they are there for us, if they were to vote for a change in the electoral system, ask yourself what way do you think it would go? I would suggest it would be 99.9% to stay as we are with no change, with the argument being if it ain't broke why mend it, hello politicos it is broke having been bent for so long, the referendum on Europe was turned down by Tony as it was far to important for the people to decide, we are led from disaster to disaster down the slippery slope, nobody in the big house has a clue, we need a benine dictator with absolute power, the problem is finding an honest one only one man in my lifetime who could have done that was Winston Churchill. :) :)

Just move to another shed when you know they are coming, is that called shed hopping, if they condemned all the sheds next step is to tear up the countryside to house the shed dwellers, what a mess.
