Westonman posted about this video a few Months ago..

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2413319/Father-secretly-records-moment-hour-old-baby-taken-away-social-services.html

Quote:
The video judges tried to block: Father secretly records harrowing moment six-hour-old baby is taken away by social services

Seizure by Staffordshire social workers secretly recorded on webcam
Shows police and staff telling couple they have to take 'baby J' away
Film can be shown for first time after landmark ruling

Abuse of power by the state or social services acting efficiently..

The fact the council sought a legal basis to have the video taken from the internet (the father would have held copyright) speaks volumes and why when powers like this are abused there will always be a place in this world for the likes of Assange, Snowdon and Manning.

It was subject to a gagging order. The council used it's funds to get a Court order to remove the original video from the web. Cloak it in secrecy is the order of the day.

The decision was then appealed all the way up to the High Court. Judgement was made and the facts reported on.

Up to individuals to decide if taxpayers funds spent in removing this from public view was both proportionate and correct or is the council abusing it's power?
