All HEMS pilots are certifiably mad. It's a fact.

I have seen them land on many occasions in spaces that the Met Police pilots simply cannot believe - and with sometimes absolutely no flyby (0or hover type) visual assessment - just arrive and land!

The most amazing was when one particularly mad pilot parked on the M4 near the M25. As he landed, he drifted to the side at the last moment very close to the street light pole as if a gust of wind had blown the aircraft over. When i asked the guy, he said he was parking it on lanes 2 & 3 and UNDER the streetlight so that lane 1 and the hard should could be opened.

Like I say mad, but what an amazing job they do!
